Why you care what other people will think about your GAME account?
More knowing some of my Steam friends in RL life, as in, i know of one that even speaks to my family and for some reason i just get anxious about it, particularly since none of those guys are anime fans at all or play games with any kind of fanservice.
Really stupid from my part, i know that, but i just think "Will they notice this in my account and what will they think of when they see that i am playing this, oh God, that one friend even talks to my mom, i know he would never even mention anything like playing porn games even if i did, but that's just awkward!".
Basically, a case of illogical anxiety, i know it's stupid but it's there, if it were all a bunch of random people i didn't know, i wouldn't mind, but i can easily see some of my Steam friends in RL nad they tend to spend quite a bit of time there and even talk mid-game.
I'm thinking these cautious Japanese developers and publishers will peep each other taking the risk to jump to Steam and follow up with their own games from catalog. It seems to be happening so far at a snail's pace, although the DRPG wave is over for the most part. You do have a point about Aquaplus, Atlus, and Underwater Ray Romano though.
I mostly just hate it when they release a bad PC port that is terribly optimized, plays badly, has a suprising lack of options or even insists on having only Xbox or PS controller buttons appearing on menus even when i am playing with a keyboard, and can't forget the developer abandoning the port afterwards if it doesn't sell immediately.
I get that you were dissapointed, but you could at least not screw the people that supported you, also, maybe, just maybe, some people would be more willing to buy your games if you don't get a reputation for releasing bad ports with terrible bugs and never fixing it?
Seriously, i see people complaining about something like Metal Slug XX having various issues with the game being seemingly abandoned after release, why the hell should i buy a crappy port where there are the classic Metal Slugs available, hell, when i can get emulators to play those in a proper state?
Even something like Pac-Man Championship Edition 2, a Pac-Man maze game, no platformer or anything, seemingly has complaints of the game having slowdown and problems for computers that should run it all while missing things like being able to play the game in Windowed or Borderless Windowed mode or even changing controls, i mean, only being able to play the game in full screen isn't the end of the world, but you'd think a PC port would give that option at least.
Anyways, some of these complaints are maybe minor...but they still matter and i feel like bad ports stop some people from supporting a developer, and them not patching or continuing to support the PC only leads to the cycle not ending.
