Voyage into the wide world of Eral as an explorer, trader, or privateer. Unravel the secrets behind Dominio's betrayal - or sail off in search of your own adventure.

shoreLoopSteamPage.gif

  • Engage in deep but straightforward tactical combat on land or at sea
  • Explore the world in your ship, then disembark to explore dungeons with your crew
  • Create your crew from 8 playable races, unlock 34 classes, learn & upgrade 150+ abilities, and equip your choice of 100+ passive abilities
  • Build a devastating combat fleet of Ice Reavers and Sea Serpents – or sail past trouble with a small but swift fleet
  • Serve under one of three factions, amass wealth as a trader, or become a reviled pirate
  • Abilities are good for more than just combat – freeze a river to cross it, or grow seeds into vines to scale mountains!
  • Unique fantasy setting – not one elf, orc or goblin in sight
  • Built using the same engine, mechanics, and setting as the highly-rated Voidspire Tactics (however, knowledge of Voidspire is NOT required for Horizon's Gate!)

Just saw the official release date announcement for this today and can't wait to get my hands on it! Love Eldiran's work and this is supposed to be his biggest one yet. Hope it gets the love it's surely going to deserve.

Day one purchase for me, of course.

Strikingly similar sailing mechanics to Uncharted Waters: New Horizons. Shame it's Steam only, would love for my old man to play this one. Lost count of the number of times he played it when I was a kid.

Would certainly make him happy to see someone follow the footsteps of one of his favorite games.

Considering the past two games are DRM-free on itch.io, I expect this will also be the same.

I'm hype, I can't think of a dev I trust more than Rad to make a tightly made game.

Isn't this game a proper rpg? Why is this in the weaboo forum when a commie-friendly VN got there?
The game looks good either way.

site admins being ignorant racists.
it looks like SNES JRPG = go into the JRPG section you go

I thought about mentioning it, but I actually feel like it could get more recognition and attention in the JRPG forum. It's hard to say.

Looks right up my alley. What was the codex consensus on Voidspire Tactics?

I think almost all of us who played it thought it was great and an extremely impressive first showing for Rad Codex. Great exploration, fun character building and progression, nice itemization, tight gameplay, great UI, interesting setting. Absolutely worth any RPG lover's time.

Pretty resounding endorsement, I'll give it a look.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I played Alvora Tactics and it was a good game. I think the dev should post an update on Steam for both it's games to let fans know that the new game will be released next month. If I wouldn't have seen this thread, I wouldn't know it would be released so soon.

This guy makes great games, but he absolutely sucks at PR. Going by the trailer, we'll be getting some proper - fleet-based tactical - ship-to-ship combat, but I can't even link a screenshot of it because there isn't one.

The dev is a big fan of UW.

And lucky for you, it's going to be on itch.io too:

I'd like to hear more about the trading and piracy parts, and how much of a living world there is to play sandbox in.
You can read this post while waiting for Eldiran to poke into the thread, it explains some game mechanics:

(the last two pages of that thread are about Boat Tactics Horizon's Gate)

You can find it on his twitter (together with some more dev log gifs), but you're right it should be in promo materials:

Thanks for posting this thread!

The Red Knight no worries, it's 32-bit. But I am really coming close to hitting the memory limit of 32-bit applications with this game.

V_K You're not wrong. I'll add more screenshots soon.

It's heavily inspired by UW, though with more focus on the RPG aspect.

Feel free to shoot me any questions.
