Finished Nightmare playthrough without using unlockable items and infinite weapons.
Some key item locations were reshuffled, some enemy encounters were changed for the better, you get Magnum almost at the beginning of the game, etc - nice addition, but won't change your opinion on the game. Difficulty for the most part was ok, except the final fight. Holy shit it was retarded, just look

lmao what the fuck. You had to perform like a thousand perfect dodges in a row, otherwise Jill gets stunlocked and dies.

So the basically rehashed Bed of Chaos fight from Demon's Souls.

Lol at some criticism (lack of backtracking and puzzles). The "puzzles" in Resident Evil are glorified:

Or the lack of enemy diversity (like RE7 and RE2 Remake then? Suddenly is a problem lol)

Edit: I can already imagine RE fans complaining about the future RE4 remake having "too much action" and being "too linear" because they enjoy pretending the game isn't a TPS.

Enjoy your cut content
Well nobody cared about the cut content in RE2 Remake.

They did, it was just those criticisms were mostly overshadowed by the positives the game had. It wasn't a 1:1 Remake like what was originally promised (hence Capcoms rebranding to "Reimagining"), but it was a fun game nonetheless. RE3 Remake however was a complete insult to the original. They threw the baby out with the bath water and made a linear corridor shooter, butchered key locations and dumbed down Nemesis.

How can I even enjoy RE3 without its incredible puzzles and exploration

Ps: RE4 with up to date combat mechanics would be a huge improvement. Also less Ashley segments

Should have gone for Code Veronica.

Resident Evil 4 already has an official HD remaster and is playable on modern systems. There's also a fan project to replace all textures. http://www.re4hd.com/
