It looks like AT&T wants to sell Warner's gaming unit to help fund its gigantic debt. This includes Rocksteady the makers of the Batman Arkham games and Monolith the maker of FEAR and Middle Earth games.I forgot they own NetherRealm too,the maker of modern Mortal Kombat games

Let's see who gets it in the end

EA? They did jack shit with Star Wars so what else they can do with other IPs?
Beside dropping them on the shelf to collect dust.

There's nothing of value to buy. The employees of any worth will also see this and realize WB doesn't own any useful IP as they find jobs elsewhere ASAP.

So they are selling a studio full of people that interview poorly.

Many of their games are tied to movie IPs which AT&T will keep. Doesn't sound to exciting for a potential customer.

WBIE does have some interesting original IPs, but I'm sure they're all games like NOLF or Blood. Good IPs that have been dead for two decades that no one cares about anymore. Is the only big one they own outright Mortal Kombat? I'm sure that's worth 4 billion dollars.
Also, didn't realize that AT&T owned Warner...just another reason why having so many streaming services is bull.

Rocksteady doing something other than Batman games non-stop would be kind of interesting. They're obviously a talented dev team. Not sure how much of Monolith is still Monolith.

IIRC there's very little of the original Monolith left after it got merged with two other studios (Snowblind and Surreal) around 2010-2012.

Some of the old gang left Monolith to work on Betrayer, but according to Mr. Hubbard, it had to sell faster in order to keep Blackpowder Games active. Which is a shame -- Betrayer felt like a decent (but modest) first step.

I bought Betrayer right away to support them and indie games of that type, and I remember the Steam forums overflowing with complaints about the black and white and the difficulty. Right or wrong, they really shot their chances in the foot by going a little too niche.
