I'm going to write to both Larian Studios and Wizards of the Coast - again - and ask them about the canon status of A Murder in Baldur's Gate. Whilst Descent into Avernus; Infernal Tides and Baldur's Gate III seem to be strictly connected, A Murder in Baldur's Gate is like a broken tooth - doesn't really fit the picture. Especially with killing off the "last Bhaalspawn".

Hmmm,it is possible,but i doubt it. People generally like to play good people and on top of it,writers are shit at making fun evil path. We will see when it comes out.

And if we consider mods, there are tons of games which allow lichdoom.

I prefer vampirism over lichdoom. HOWEVER, between a game where you can reanimate bosses to serve you, cast deadly tier 9 spells and so on is much more interesting IMO than a game which you can at end game, cast a ultra nerfed 5e cloudkill - low damage concentration required spell. If I an playing a post apocalyptic RPG like FNV, I wanna use powerful firearms. I wanna use a anti materiel rifle with explosive .50 bmg rounds to snipe armored robots at 200m+. If I an playing a high fantasy RPG, I wanna use powerful supernatural abilities. That is simple.
