This Starry Void is a science-fiction RPG in the vein of old-school dungeon crawlers. Between Vaporum and this, it's funny how single-character Grimrock clones seem to have caught on better than party-based. Or at least they look more creative and less shoveware-ish.

I'm not sure I like the free-camera look combined with the grid movement restrictions, it feels incoherent / out of place. The cell-shaded colorful visual style looks interesting and original ( for this genre ). I'm not convinced by the combat and some things look a bit cheap, but I guess we'll see.

Edit: Also I hope they address the aliasing, cause with cell shading.. it's bad.. really bad.

I think it's to do with the extra work required. If you're running similar small pools of talent against two subgenres, one of which is more difficult to get right then you'll see the quality in the easier subgenre.

So I gave the demo 10 minutes. It's very much a pre-alfa: controls and UI suck and settings don't work. Will wait until it's something more resembling an actual game.
