We should be pretty good on money now. Main thing seems to be that they don’t agree on who should pay for the fence... with that settled by our call though we ought to be fine and just end up with some initial grumbling that’s eventually paid off by them not destroying each others’ crops or goats. Seems perfectly fair and just and does not discourage petitioners and make us out to be some tyrant. It’s tough to listen to these bullshit cases but the chilling effect throwing them in jail or otherwise truly punishing them on the matter like with the renting could mean we don’t get reports we’d be very interested in hearing about later.

That being said the obvious solution would be to hold up their land by the legs in front of them, and suggest that it should be bisected with a blade such that both claimants may receive a half. Then, we would tell which one of them is the land's true mother based on their reactions.
