So I played the Melody of Mystery DLC levels. In terms of gameplay and level design there is nothing new. In terms of visual design there's a lot more variety, mainly on account of it taking place within dreams and therefore giving the developers more leeway to design fantastic & unrealistic setpieces (such as terrain and props made entirely of various confections).
If I had a gripe it's that they only bothered to add one new enemy type and reused all the others. I honestly think they might just as well not have bothered to include combat at all, truth be told.

If you enjoyed the base game I'd recommend the DLC, if you did not enjoy the base game I wouldn't recommend the DLC. It is basically more of the same.
