Found my first gameplay bug. Dude in Tigers casino is supposed to let me in into casino if i pay but if i get close to him he goes into warning mode and starts shooting. You can quickly pay him and get by that way before warning meter is full.

That is first gameplay bug in 30+ hours.

The first real bug I found in my 25 hours was pretty brutal. In the Greed Never Pays side gig I hid in one of the booths in the brain dance club and made a quick save there. After reloading I found myself stuck inside the booth - it was impossible to open the door. So I reloaded to a previous save still in the club and it was impossible to open any doors (there was an option to close doors only and when I pressed F there were no options to open them). I reloaded an autosave from the initial part of the mission in an appartment building and the same things was there too - ie doors were fucked, so this bug actually started to work retroactively on saves that were fine before.

In the end I had to revert to an autosave from a previous mission I did (It was maybe just 10 minutes of lost game time, so fortunately no big deal) and the same mission then worked fine. Still, quite a scarry experience.

I wonder how many iterations this game went through. Remember that leak from a few years ago, where it showed a female mc walking inside a room with italian mafia looking guys? It's clearly different from what we have today.
Also, wtf happened with the skill trees and crafting mechanics, they suck hard, Skyrim has a better crafting system ffs...

it does though we have scanners today that can get the point cloud data of entire rooms. You can easily turn a still photo into a 3d model so apply that idea to footage and you get BD.
the problem with BD is less the feasibility of it and more that its just a bad mechanic.

Judging from some of the dialogue I think this game went through development hell.

Some side quests are actually quality stuff, like finding the NCPD guy's nephew.

Other are just filler. Like the Delaware's cars, it's just annoying.

Yeah I did one where I had to steal a van. It was simple but fun. Managed to get away with the van without alerting any of the guards.

It never escaped development hell, it will be there for a good long while from release.

Does the game open up at some point or is it always on-rails? Feels like all I'm doing is following NPCs, sitting down in chairs and answering phone calls.

It says clearly "Reinforced"

Speaking of systems. Many people argue that skill system is a bit tame with 5% to that etc. I can agree with that but you are ignoring completely other part of system which are implants and mods and that each skill also has levels to themselves that rise with actual use and they provide both perks and upgrades to skill itself. Here is some choice of clothes mods from one of clothing shops. Mods are one time only meaning once you set mod into some piece of gear you can't take it out.

I am level 18 or something like that and i have around 250armor atm so this one mod for onpiece of gear effectively increase by 1/3 armor.

Same here. It seems like most of the bugs come from old gen console versions. I am yet to find single actual gameplay bug and the only bugs i had are just visual glitches mostly in animation in cutscenes. Moreover most of those were at start of the game weirdly, the more i play the less i see them.
And same here. 26 hrs of plaiying and the only glitches I can think of are one T-pose in Lizzy's Bar, and one of the Delamain cars which would disappear and respawn a couple of blocks away if pressed in a very tight space, where its pathfinding can't get it out of - this is actually preventing the quest from getting stuck.

I fail to see how this game is "SJW".
Also true. The screeching paranoid primadonnas here are not worth responding to. The easiest test - if the game was indeed SJW some character like Takamura would have been female and/or black. I haven't seen the typical signs of SJW tropes for now, and unlike the agitprop sections of both camps, I'm not brain damaged enough to be unable to read critically.

I had been driving around in the game for quite a while today, because I did all the "Epistrophy" missions, those with the wayward Delamain cabs, one after the other. It was really nice to see that all of the 7 missions played out a bit differently. It was also a fun way to see much of the whole town, including several areas where I hadn't been so far at all.

At least I now got a bit of driving practice. It has been a while since I've played a game with that style of driving. Driving around with Jackie's former motorcycle makes it also easier. I prefer driving during the night, as vision is usually better (the sun glare in this game is sometimes really overdone) and traffic isn't that dense. The motorcycle makes driving between cars and on the sidewalks more viable, as there often isn't much space on the roads.

I see all these videos about weird piles of vehicles or spinning or flying cars, but I haven't really encountered anything like that. The AI is certainly not the most flexible, but it's serviceable. I'd assume that this behavior should depend on your CPU, and as my i5 2500k is below minimum specs, I expected more issues, but there aren't any for me. I wonder what happens in those cases where you have that many bugs as in those videos you find everywhere.
I did the same missions yesterday, and was also pleased with the uncertainty that each mission carried. I thought it would be a silly fetch quest, but it was better than that, a bit of a tour of the city.

The real issue is the overall handling of the setting. I've skimmed through the CP wiki and even a cursory glance shows you just how much they either didn't implement or plain got wrong or didn't think through. THAT is the real reason the game doesn't feel right. Especially in direct comparison to the Witcher series.
I agree, but as Mefi said, the setting itself isn't anything that genius, especially from the point of view of the present day. I was unimpressed with what I read from the RPG books, but I was hoping CDPR will have managed to outdo the source material in the same way in which they outdid Sapkowski. So far I can't say that they have or haven't. I did the "Happy together" quest and it felt more like a parody of a Witcher 3 quest.

I'm going to offer mitigation for that because Cyberpunk 2020 is a superficial take on cyberpunk and staying true to that is what gets you the nonsense conversations with Dex and Jackie about glory followed by an investigation into sex slavery and snuff movies as a tick box exercise straight after. Fully agree with your take and on how poor it is. It's 'how cool would it be to have Keanu Reeves in your head? Very cool or so cool you'd explode?'. So you've got a very superficial setting by design and choice, not Gibson asking where the boundaries of reality are, and who is policing them, nor even Dick playing about with the idea of 'can you tell a disabled person from a robot well enough not to shoot both?'.
I agree with you. It's something similar I've felt in RDR2 to a lesser extent - the tone of the game while in the open world activities and side missions ranges far from the tone of the game while in main story missions. Again I'll repeat that this game would have been better off hub-based. More consistent tone and easier worldbuilding would have been another two positives, in addition to all the technical ones.

anyone notice the retarded popin tessellation yet?
I am convinced that with 1.04 they increased pop-in as a stopgap measure to make the game more bearable for old hardware. I can't say if this was needed on PC specifically, but they are the ones with the telemetry data, so I guess they can tell better than me.

Also i noticed that you can actually get recipes for various clothes but they are random. So i am guessing end game is collecting all that shit, buying mods/implants etc.

mods for weapons also get involved a bit more than just +2% to something:

Damn, I fucked around too long and didn't get to the heist. I finally did it, like 10 hours in, and I was completely taken by surprise by everything after. The entire sequence was on rails, but damned if CDPR can't do some really good cut scenes. I had no idea what the game was going to be about, so I'm much more into it now that I know the general plot.

It's kind of ballsy of CDPR to start it in the way they did. The player can fuck around endlessly with side quests before the plot actually even starts.

I think sidequests while being rather short are still varied. They do not repeat each other. At one point you meet a guy with a broken short curcuiting cyberdick and you have a choice of helping him out or leaving him. Then you meet a streetfood seller who needs help with some punks pestering him. Then a doctor captured and forced to work for captors. etc.

The focus though is obviously on the main stage where the main characters are with long ass conversations, missions and yellow dialogue lines.

Well, look at this from this perspective - they will need to fix the game if they want to regain some of their consumer friendly cred back. At least now that it is out they can't remake it from the ground up again, and since they earned a lot they have the cash to work on it for the next two years.

I know why people feel so divided about this.
It's not an RPG, or really open world.
It's much more like one of those awful modern JRPG weebshit games with 80 hours of cutscenes, except you get to pick a dialogue option every 20 minutes or so.

i mean the game is obviously meant to be played with changing pace between interactive movie main plot and driving around the city doing random side missions

So it's a world where you can just swap your sexy bits at will. Fair enough, sounds futuristic enough. But what are the implications? lol who cares, here's an ad with a dickgirl! Funny! Trannies angry, reeee!
Instead the game should be asking: How does society react to such a trend? Every society has social mores, even if the one in CP is deeply amoral. The setting makes a big deal out of cyberpsychosis - It's only logical that someone who regularly swaps their cock'n'balls for a vagina would develop serious issues then, no? What about high society, corpos? Is it totally acceptable for a CEO to front as a stronk wahmen one day and a Chad the next? Or would they require their employess to adhere to certain standards while at work, if only to make the company look professional? What about the really poor or outsiders like the nomads who can't get access to a tranny surgeon easily? Wouldn't nomads look down on such a practice as decadent?
Trannies would HATE this. The whole point of sjwism in media is "representation", trannies want to be present in popculture but presented as something normal and natural, not some part of a sci fi setting tries to portray how would society react to extreme body mods, how the culture around it would be different from now etc. It's just a woman with a penis, normal thing in the current year and also a normal thing in fictional 2077...and a normal thing in some medieval-inspired fantasy world etc.
