Adjusted for inflation, Modern Warfare 2 is the most expensive game ever made. Mainly because its marketing budget was 400% the cost of making the game. Then there's GTA V with clost to a 1:1 split, The Old Republic's 200 million price tag, Halo 2 because of inflation adjustment, this year's Avengers game that crashed with no survivors, Destiny 1 that was dropped by Bungie like both their last names were Clapton, Dead Space 2 and Final Fantasy VII again thanks to inflation and then we hit Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk 2077 underwhelming critical reception does not change anything - it already made back all the money that CDPR invested in it during first 24 hours of sales. So, its inevitable CD Projekt will be bought and soon.
Cyberpunk 2070's sale and fallout will be the deciding factors.
because they believe it will make back the money they invested, which it did within 24 hoursHow do you justify such ridiculous cost for a game form the point of an investor?

Down to 89, and it's based on 58 reviews. To give perspective, other AAA games have 80 - 100 reviews so expect the score to drop a bit more or stabilize around 88 - 90.Cyberpunk has a 90 on Metacritic right now. Granted that’s because they didn’t send out console versions for review, but that sure as shit isn’t a flop critical wise.
Tencent. GOG is already sucking Chinese dicks.
You can't just buy Poland, dude.
Alll I know is that real normal people prefer to play simple low graphical inttensity games their old notebooks, aging consoles and phones can run and you can make over 100 of those with the budget Cyberpunk 2077 got.
There is news articles that it costs 300+million dollars. So 8 million preorders is not enough for breakeven.Cyberpunk is their bestselling game and paid for itself with it's 7 mil. preorders. If they patch it up fanboys will forgive/forget and their next game will sell as well if not better.
Don't see anyone buying them soon.
It was 300 mil including marketing budget, dumbo. Game's development budget without marketing cut was around 120 mil. You probably used movie standards, where they don't include marketing budget in the cost. There is news articles that it costs 300+million dollars. They would need to make about 650-750 million dollars to break even.
