SRW OG Original Generation for PS 2 full English Patch is released!

This is a full remake and adding a lot of new stuff too for the 2 SRW OG games on GBA.

For those who don't know SRW OG series is just SRW but only with Banpresto/Bandai original characters which appeared throughout the mainline SRW Games since SRW 4. So there is no licensed character here.

That being said, having smaller cast and not constrained to licensed IP sotryline, the OG games usually have better writing and character focus. Compared to mainline SRW of each console, OG games usually have better animations too due to money not used to buy expensive license.

If you are a fans of mecha anime play it!

God fuck I am so giddy to have another SRW in English :bounce::bounce::bounce:

Been waiting 12 years for this to happen. Just need Gaiden and 2nd translated and we will be all caught up with Moon Dwellers.

Wow, that took decades. A bit too late for anyway, I'm no longer interested in SRW that much. What about SRW Alpha 3? That one is considered to have tons of text.

The only know ongoing Alpha series project is Alpha 1 by AGTP.

Heck all 3 Alpha games have ton of text and lot of branches, even having 4 protagonist and having unique scenario for each. Alpha is peak SRW. I honestly doubt any group will take any Alpha games soon, not until AGTP is finished with Alpha 1 anyway.

Bahamut Lagoon has been translated well enough to be played for ages, whats different here?

From https://www.gamerevolution.com/news/670438-bahamut-lagoon-english-translation-patch :
Along with a fresh translation from @RetroTranslator, this patch is meant to be a definitive release technically as well.

Byuu set out to fix all bugs present in the game. Menus and text, two of the biggest obstacles in SNES-era fan-translations, are built from the ground up. Every text graphic has been redrawn and improved from the original, and the entire game has been essentially reprogrammed and optimized. The result is a game that looks and runs as good (or better) than if it had localized by Square itself.

Not sure just how many bugs were in the original game, but if this is accurate it could be worth it I suppose.

The Translation of the Saturn Version of Grandia is done:

https://segaxtreme.net/resources/grandia-english-patch.67/
This is awesome considering the saturn version looks and runs better then the psx version.
Also would be nice if the digital museum is translated in the future.

Has anybody managed to download the patch, it's extremely slow download speed for me from that site and always breaks after some time and I never get the full zip?

Shiji Hero Legend (Shiki Eiyuuden) translated

http://www.dynamic-designs.us/shiji.shtml

This game is not for everyone. It is tough, tedious, different, and at times - downright exasperating! The plot mixes history (from the Chinese "Shiji", finished by Sima Qian in 94 B. C.) with legend, mysticism, and fantasy - rolling the whole shebang into a turn-based RPG format with a setting during the "Warring States Period" of Chinese history (circa 300 B. C.).

I think info about Devil Summoner (PSP) is more interesting than about GBA port of SMT1:

https://iwakuraproductions.wordpres...evil-summoner-fan-translation-preview-colons/

:incline:

After all, it's one of the few games in the series still lacking ENG translation.

glad to hear it's making progress but I wouldn't hold your breath for a release just yet. nothing against the guy but he's the same dude who's been working on Persona 2 EP PSP for literal years now and the only content in that game that wasn't translated before in English was the extra scenario AFAIK. Still, it's amazing how much they've managed to get done with Devil Summoner coz I heard the PSP port is a technical mess to work with, even worse than the original Saturn version which was tough to reprogram from the beginning

Mmmh, I don't remember there being anything wrong with DeJap's translation back when I played Bahamut Lagoon. The game itself was enjoyable enough, if somewhat forgettable; I recall the dragon feeding mechanics being annoying though...

I don't think there was anything wrong with it, Byuu just had the dream to translate it for a long time, and I don't see anything wrong with having a second good translation.
