So many pages to say so little... magazine format really sucks for something like this. His podcast interviews are vastly superior, you can actually hear his thoughts and opinions, not just a reporter going "oh wow, you play so many games!".

Its also shoddily researched, somehow, someway. Part of it can be laid at Chet's feet perhaps, but I doubt Chet said Final Fantasy was the first console game he played. Reminds me why no matter how sad it is that print is dead, that's because journalism went into a massive decline in the '00s. Most magazines aren't worth the paper they're printed on anymore.

The article was poorly written and didn't reveal anything new about CRPG Addict. Adding more voices to the piece could have made it more interesting.

I'm triggered by the incorrect aspect ratio of the DOS screenshots in that PC Gamer article.

I'm 99% sure they just took the screens straight from his blog (which would explain the Starflight screenshot, since CRPG Addict hadn't figured out how to take proper screenshots at that point and was just taking screenshots of the entire DOSBOX window), but it's lazy as fuck to not correct the screens and is indicative that it was written by someone who has no clue whatsoever about the topic of his article.

P.S. The last page has a screen from The Summoning and a screen from Ultima VI, but seems to imply they are both from Ultima VI despite clearly being from completely different games.

I also got a kick out of their attempt at an illuminated initial:

P.C. Gamer's article reads like some tabloid rag kissing a celebrity's ass. It could have done so much more with this article: See what games Chet most likes and hates and compare them to the tastes of the magazine's writers and and readers; examine some very unpleasant statements he made, like when he said that all Japanese art makes him vomit; discuss some of the more obscure games covered, whereas the article mostly cites the obvious examples like Starflight, Ultima, Might and Magic, Wizardry and Dungeons and Dragons; compare his mad obsession with the magazine staff's own view on these games and the general trend of P.C. fanboys calling themselves a "master race."

This is the worst P.C. Gamer article since the time the writers, for all intents and purposes in consensus condemned the existence of boss battles: https://rpgcodex.net/forums/threads/terrible-article-about-boss-battles.121504/

The CRPGAddict reached Defender of Boston, I know it was praised a bit here and is certainly a weird but notable RPG, though a few months ago I had never heard of it.

Can you even get a candelabra in DM? That always irked me. I usually died by the third level anyways so I guess I'll never know. Did that nearly naked Barbarian boink some dude's mage mistress and now he's trying to escape? Looks like a nightgown to me.

There may be people who read the article that never knew Chet existed.

Maybe she wants to attract Simon Belmont and tap that CV1 barbaric-ass. She loves her man candy. She knows Simon can't resist "whipping" it.

In its most recent annual review, Pornhub said it had had 42 billion site visitors in 2019 and more than 6.83 million videos had been uploaded, with a combined viewing time of 169 years. It did not say how many moderators it employed.

How did it take him almost 70hrs to complete M&MIII? I don't remember it being much longer than 30 (I might be misremembering tho).
