Any RPG that is coming out that anyone is excited about?

I don't know for sure but it's surely much better than v1.0. Lots of content has been added, quest, items, vehicles, weapons, npcs and the like.
Methinks they're trying hard to make a good impression at the US launch.
They've updated their rendering engine too.

Poor fuckers didn't know they were living in the golden age.

Well, in 2002 they were on the cusp of probably the deepest and longest period of decline in the genre history. From the death of Troika all the way to the ressurgence of CRPGs circa 2013 via Kickstarter funded games, there was a long period of massive decline not only in the number of true RPGs being made but also if we consider the quality of the ones that managed to get made at all. Comparatively, the mid 90s decline was a shorter and possibly less damning period for the genre as a whole.

2002? This is closer to deepwater drilling than grave digging.

I'm waiting for BG3 to get out of early access.

We are clearly in a third dark age for the genre. The recent almost-renaissance stopped at 2018. 2019 was a terrible year, not even mediocre. 2020 was even worse. The crisis could be as short as mid 1990s (3-4 years) or as long as 2000s one (7-10 years). Maybe this time there will be only a 2 years decline and 2021 will be brilliant, good or simply decent for crpgs, but I doubt it.

That said, after each crpg crisis, a great change happens and a lot of the path walked by older titles is lost. After first crisis, Renaissance Era games, departed greatly not only in scope but focus from the games of first Golden Age. After the second great decline, with few exceptions, most good games of the last decade are even more different from the old classics.

So how will be the "decent" crpgs that will come after 2019-202X crisis? They will be still recognizable as rpgs by codexers?

Oooh, that one. Yeah. Yeaaaah. This could be interesting, not only because of the Wankfactor. I mean, a pornrpg with actual good mechanics would be at least something worth talking about.

When is the full version supposed to come out?

Wrath of the Righteous is supposed to come out in summer 2021, but who knows if it will actually be done by that time or in a playable state. Wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

One trend I've noticed just browsing upcoming games is that many publishers seem to be refraining from tagging every game as a RPG. It could be indicative of the genre falling out of flavor with the mainstream.

Also, the number of games that were originally slated for 2020 and got delayed is just staggering. If all these companies manage to get their games out before going out of business, 2021 might be a year of plenty. Anyway, here's my small selection:

King Arthur: Knight's Tale looks interesting. I'm a sucker for anything Arthurian.

Croteam has a hand on developing The Hand of Merlin. Maybe the Arthurian setting is making a comeback in 2021?

Dark Envoy is the new game from the makers of Tower of Time.

Shores Unknown seems like it could surprise in a good way.

It's hard to figure out what 4 Minutes to the Apocalypse is going to be, but I like the premise.

I highly doubt it will get released this year, but Project Witchstone clearly aims to please grognards.

Australian post apocalyptic setting is always a plus in my book, so I'll keep an eye out for Broken Roads.

I also found a couple of obvious rip offs that are so absurd they are worth a mention. Like this celulite packed low budget version of Nier Automata called Outcast in Mars. And this game that seemingly is ripping off the Tolkien estate and Wizards of the Coast simultaneously, shamelessly titled The Fellowship Saga. The description mentions both turn-based party combat and first-person action. Lastly, there's Within the Cosmos, a game that seems to have lifted the gun models straight from Halo and has some screenshots that look suspiciously similar to The Outer Worlds. All three scream asset flip.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, I suppose. All things considered, I only get my kicks from a handful of CRPG archetypes.
