Just finally clicked that the main protagonist of Neuromancer is called Henry Dorsett Case. Homage upon homage.
The whole parade in Japantown reminded me of this scene from Ghost in the Shell 2

Probably the best part of the game showcasing the aesthetic feel and cultural fusion of the city.

Meanwhile, there is a 'leak' of what is the plan for CP2077 in the next 6 months https://archive.is/hL75d

CDPR hurt themselves to keep investors safe and sound. Now devs are hearing plans of a "No Man's Sky" style comeback due to late June. The first two patches should come out mid-March, despite what's been said by top execs. There will be major departures from the studio in the coming months. Dev morale is on an all time down and Sony is roasting our asses due to the gigantic volume of refund requests. There will be a meeting today with Sony execs to figure out a way to compensate players threatening with legal action. Sony Japan is specially furious.

More to come in the next couple weeks. Feels terrible, man.

There's no finger pointing as of now. Word on memos comes from the top. The directors and senior devs are taking the flak for the team in what I'd call "an honourable move". Just so you know, we still joke about a quest that got rewritten more than a dozen times, because a certain top dog wasn't "feeling it". It ended up being cut from the final product and should come on a later DLC next year.
There's people that get hired for whatever reason and stay in the company due to being "trusted by the top dogs". A good chunk of code is getting scrapped and rewritten from scratch. The intended game might be ready by June 2021.

That's already done and ready since February. It didn't get implemented because of a major UI bug that is still present in the retail copies. If you open your .dat files you'll find a lot of scrapped content still in there.
If you want a refund, please ask for it. It positively impacts us as devs, because we've warned the leads a MILLION times about that kind of s***. Most cosmetic overhauls should be ready by the 2nd big update, hopefully.
The update that is due to June will sort out all of the bugs. The code for the PS4/Xbox One is getting scrapped and done separately. PS5's code is an improvement on the PC due to the awesome dev kit Sony put together for this gen.

You'd be amazed by how much is already done. That "cut content so people finish the main quest" talk was all bulls***. Most apartments with "Closed (locked)" indications used to be lootable, we've scrapped 50,000+ lines of dialogue and I believe the June update will bring a whole lot of cut content back into the game.
Address the cut content as well. If they see that you guys are asking for s*** to be put back into the game, we might actually make the game we intended back in 2018. There used to be a huge underground part of the city that the public never got to see because it "looked ugly" to the execs. It was f***ing awesome and felt like the malkavian/nosferatu path on Vampire the Masquerade.

I don't want to hate on Keanu, but f***ing hell, our original Johnny was way cooler and sounded like a maniac. Think Foltest on crack. I don't appreciate his acting either, but he's a very nice man. Walked up to us personally to greet us on the first day and took time to personally thank us one by one when they wrapped up recording.

The word is his fee was actually manageable and the need for a Star Talent came from outside CDPR. The execs complied, because who the f*** knows? It sucks.

Our original Johnny was heavily inspired by David Hayter's Solid Snake from the first MGS and believe it or not, Cillian Murphy

There was a whole AI routine with minor gang violence in those areas. Stuff you could sit back and watch unfold or directly influence. There was also a lot of drug use with kids that eventually got cut due to inside censorship. There were priests and hare krishna side arcs that got cut due to censorship. Miles wrote a sidequest where a Max Tac officer offed himself and you could take its place but it created such a complex detour from everything tonally that it got cut as well. I hope it comes back, because it felt amazing to get into their headquarters and hack s***. You'd see the police trying to operate and breaking down mid-arrest due to your shenanigans.

Might sound weird, but the disaster launch was actually something beneficial, from our perspective. A cold shower sets priorities straight and so we're able to resume work on what was originally intended without having those f***ers breathing down our necks to publish.

I believe it was due to miscommunication and leads not setting goals like they should. The game was jumbled together for 2019's E3. The last dev comp before the scrap was 160Gb alone. There should be some whistleblowing in the coming weeks if the step downs

Series X was a mere rewrite of code and load orders. Next-gen's architecture is actually very good for ports. It's company policy to release when a game runs without debug hitches and the reason why it did baffles me and is the reason why I started this thread. It's a mix of hubris and deep incompetence from some big names around here. I'm going home for the holidays and really thinking about my friends who will be in the office for the next couple months redoing scrapped work without being able to say "I f***ING TOLD YOU!!! This is your fault, Boss". Next E3 will be bizarre for CDPR, I bet.

We've scrapped two whole arcs because the mission cleaned a save due to a bug with character placement. We've also scrapped a big portion of the underground and sewers because of bugs. Night City had three different types of cab besides Villefort and drivers would hold whole conversations and give quests. That also had to be scrapped.

Police pathfinding script worked wonderfully until somebody screwed the pooch. All I know it is already being fixed. It was a major oversight, of course.

Morgan Blackhand's backstory and a nod to the Coporate Wars. The DLC's will add a lot to the crazy and cool ideas Mike gave us when we began briefing the project. You guys should have the complete game by the end of next year, if everything goes well. I really gotta go now. Take care.

So yeah, the game was butchered

You can romance Judy as male v by tweaking some files. I think all of the lines are voiced in the English version, but not in the other language(it will play the female voice for those unrecorded lines).

They definitely starts with the idea that she can be romanced by a character with a male voice, but ditch it half way, it's probably the same with Panam and other LI. You can already romance Panam with a male body female voice V, so all the lines were already recorded you just can't unlock it if you have a female body.

My bet is that they decided to treat a character with male voice as a male in most of the conversations, and realise later that it would be a PR disaster for them to have a lesbian character date a "Mr V". So they add a extra restriction. But leave the straight romance alone because no body gives a shit about how straight people thinks when it comes to this, not even the straight people themselves.

Well yeah, aren't cis-males the most hated and villainous trash on the face of the planet? They'd be the last group to cater to.

At this point I hope the late stage development reboot theory is right because while it sucks for 2077, it means they're sitting on a shitload of stuff to use for the Online game.

Fuck online. The online game is one of the reasons why the single playing campaign became a botchling. And besides, are you a bunch of lame extroverts or something?

Uh oh. I am doing exploration and blue ones and gigs this time and i noticed pattern. When i do a lot of exploration and blu ones in northside which is mealstrom turf i get a lot of shards that talk about organization and day to day operations of Royce and Brik and how they but heads. Yes some of the stories are completely situational and not connected but like 20% of them are connected to quests you are doing giving more background to those missions. So i found for example svavs talking about fingers ripperdock while they were attacking some chick. Or mentioned Brick/royce powerstruggle mentioned by mealstrom.

Like i mentioned previously you have to also explore stuff as some of the stuff is not on map

For me, it's missing that final step to connect it back with relevant things. The main quest is so driven by face to face conversation that its absence is particularly noticeable with the shard stories. As was rightly said earlier, if it's on a shard, who really cares? That said, some are quite funny in their own way, like what happens to unconscious bodies you put in cars for fixer jobs. Just wish for others there is a further step to it, as there is with some. For example,
you find the bodies of policemen killed by someone you had the opportunity to persuade to give up her investigation into Fingers, but there's no direct conversation back with her or about her. Or if there is it's so well hidden as to be practically invisible.

It's okay, looks like the main subreddit is already in damage control mode with mods locking everything "bad", so soon it will be the greatest game ever made.

How long do you think normal people were going to tolerate posts talking about 'terrible', 'absolutely horrendous', 'worst ever', 'insufferable' gameplay and/or bugs? I thought a month would be enough but people are apparently bored and spam this stupid shit again and again.

Therefore I'm not surprised.

People who still play this game obviously found something they like, so it's kind of self-selecting.

Then again, my last session was one of the glitchiest I had with this game. NPC's flying a hundred meters after a headshot (not Bethesda stratosphere like, but still), my V getting teleported 200 meters down the road during a gunfight, plus all vehicles passing the entrance to V's apartment block shredding themselves on the concrete barrier. Yay. I had felt so left out so far...

It took 8 years to build nearly 800k people on main sub
It took 3 weeks for lowsodium version of it to reach 100k and now is sitting on ~130k.

You can clearly see what it means.

It means people can't take a single compliment for their precious game.8 years waiting for losing 8 years old mobile game. It's an open-world FPS game, so don't come at me ''it's an RPG, you expected this game to be GTA.''No, I waited for solid open-world, solid RPG. It isn't a good RPG, it isn't a good open world,15 hours main story, you can only sit and listen to the story that you can't change until the end. Non-lethal hasn't any meaning in the game. Useless perks, dumb enemy AI, so why I should try other builds?

Of course, I forgot Panam's ass.314 million development money is very well spend on that ass.

I'm finding different bugs on each save so it's kind of interesting trying to piece together intended design. My playtime on this is obscene from being on furlough.

That mission where Judy follows behind you actually kind of worked on the current save. Not perfectly but a couple of the triggers for her to 'help' actually worked and surprised me. Pity they were intended for a stealthy approach. Meanwhile triggers for dialogue Johnny definitely has are particularly broken on that save. Did find a bit of reactivity to V's reputation too,
instead of sending V on a mission hunting for porn, Wakaka said V had done enough work for her that she'd arrange for a snuff BD to be dropped off for V.

Not only that but water rendering with all the reflections and caustics and actual transparency somehow is not visible in Cyberpunk. Why?

To be fair, I would forgive all those technical shortcomings if the main quests were more than press F to pay respects and the side quests werent Far Cry outposts with the occasional journal of the poor gangster mom and her struggles.

The Cyberpunk sub went from "OMG this will the the best game ever" to "This is the worst game I ever played" in 1 day after release.
The result of super hype meeting reality. It was even worse than the ME:A sub after release.

I was actually really surprised at how quickly and severe the dehype happened. But we all know it means nothing as eventually they'll release a "it's good now" version and people will pretend like everything is fine still. I've seen this happen too many times now for this game of all things to be different. It's pretty frustrating though that all of this could've been prevented because it really came down to consumer attitudes and industry complacency in allowing sub-par products to be promoted to such outrageous amounts. Sure they paid record numbers into Marketing budgets but at the end of all of this you would have thought people would be more cynical of AAA releases after all the prominent disasters we've seen in the past 10+ years.

I'm pretty frustrated by the whole thing really. I expect AAA studios to be corrupt and produce shoddy products. But I still expect customers to reject studios when they pull moves like this yet we don't see it happen. I mean peoples steam libraries say it all really people buy games not to play them or enjoy them they buy them to be seen as consuming the latest popular hotness and "Fit in" to their social circles. Everyone I've spoken to IRL about Cyberpunk regurgitates the same bs that games media is saying about it but when I talk about where the game did well no one knows what I'm talking about and that to me is telling most people bought the game not because they were interested in Cyberpunk but because it was the trendy thing to buy and play even if they didn't actually play it very long. That alone is why curation is suffering in this industry because the people that are the majority of customers just don't care about video games so CDPR will get away with it just like every other AAA.

None of this feels right and it disgusts me that we even got to this point.
