My biggest complaint of Dragonfall has to be the companions. They could not keep up with my characters that were not that optimised.

Glory was the biggest culprit. Good god she was crap. I took Lucky Strike, or whatever her name was, instead every chance I had.
Glory is mostly for her medkits and occasionally melee to get an enemy out of cover

Well, I also kinda like her as a woman.

Not that a true hardcore gamer would care about anything other than the character sheet, especially to-hit chances, but you know what I mean.

SR's best girl can't be anyone other than Glory. Cherry Bomb and her giant boobies get a special mention, though.

None of you mofos ever played Shadowrun Chronicles: Boston Lockdown isn't it? It was pretty decent game and the story was serviceable, shame they shutted down the servers a couple years ago.
It was fucking atrocious. What are you smoking?

Glory ain't either of those things. 'sides, she looks way too much like this one girl that I know for her not to be my favourite. And I imagine Gobbet would stink mercilessly.

I'm playing this a second time. Even though it's my favorite it's actually the one in the trilogy I didn't finish, as I got near the end and got distracted by real life shit or something. Anyway, I'm playing on the hardest difficulty this time and like... I can't hit shit. The companions all level automatically, so I know I didn't make any "bad decisions," and yet Glory has a 40-50% hit chance with her melee attacks no matter what I do. Eiger's sniper requires way too much distance to be effective since most maps are small, so she's using a shotgun. It has 60%ish chance from a few steps away, and even with that frequently misses 3 out of 4 shots. Let's not even mention by PC who's a decker and pistol shooter. My question is this: does the hardest mode nerf hit chance to an insane degree, or what?
I've played the whole series on the hardest level. Even Dragonfall is a little too easy. Try not being a decker or rigger.. make your PC a combat specialist and don't spread your skills too thin. Then replay with a Decker challange build.

If you find the game too easy even after unnerfed AI, a good challenge would be to beat it with one less character each mission (other than the companion missions).

I may have done that. Is unnerfed AI a mod? (I played the GOG version, no mods - apparently SRR mods are really geared toward Steam.. I just assumed it wasn't a moddable game lol)

Basically there's a flag for the max number of attacks the AI will make a turn, and they set the default to 1 before release to make the combat more popamole friendly. But it fucks with the AI badly which is why enemies leave cover for no reason. You can manually set the flag in the AI files to a different number, or there's a fan patch that does it.

It's not like SCS, it's just restoring the AI to the original intended functionality.

I beat Dragonfall: DC as a decker rigger on very hard. You get a power spike if you rush getting a third robot out, but by the end of the game they're only useful for the free items they bring and for distracting enemies from firing at your actual party. Sniper Eigar getting fed buffs by the shamn guy ended up being MVP.

I'm still not sure if being a useless rigger is better or worse than having to bring Blitz to deck. Probably better since Blitz isn't even a particularly good decker on top of sucking at meat space combat. That companion mission was the hardest on very hard.

The game needs more skill checks for classes besides deckers. It seemed like every skill check was either for Intelligence or Decking.

I didn't say the game is hard, just that you miss a comically large percentage of the time.

I enjoyed these games but they are just too barebones for my liking. Definitely mobile phone games through and thourhg.
Strange they arent on the play store anymore.
