Owlcats can't even do their bugs right, in Ember quest I thought if I still have bugged Ember in my party I would get 2 Embers, but no location just empty.

Well with that, my gaem is stuck with critical bug.

This isn't exactly what I planned on doing but after much deliberation seemed best:

Mythic Feat.jpg

You can trade a Mythic Feat for a regular one and in this case seems like a good idea since Crusader bonus feats are so restricted. She doesn't want to be wasting action economy on Dazzling Display (and she can't blow through the penalties on Mythic Display) or slots on casting in combat, even Quickened, at least not yet so Sorcerous Reflex can wait. With picking up Shatter Defenses next level this should really set up the iteratives. Mythic Two-weapon Fighting was also close.

Wood.jpg

:deathclaw:

SuperGhost.jpg

Second time in a row this area popped right after Chapel. This guy's harder than Nulk.

Another boss with no SR tho.

Crsipy Crispy.jpg

Yeah about that Crispy tanking... 160 damage will do the trick at lvl 8

FlankingDmageHolyLance.jpg

Let's try Sosiel’s Holy Lance ability on Lann. Tristian had this and I did eventually start activating it here and there. It gets pretty good late and works right away as short burst.

Infinitron's +4 damage when Flanking a godsend here. Camellia would be good for this fight with her Ghost Touch. Searing Light is no Save so would be good too, but would have to land a Touch attack at range which no one is set up to do.

Ghost taking a strange interest in my Wood Golem which I'm fine with. Ember kept that -4AC Evil Eye up for four rounds with Cackle, which is what it took to burn down this guy.

Holy Bow Lance.jpg

2d6 unreduced. Deliverer fans jealous. Forgot to cast Magic Weapon on +2 Shield which game doesn't know is Magic and doesn't get Good/Cold Iron from Iomedae kitty like all the other weapons.

Nenio getting there.jpg

She's got the attax, she's got the AB, now for the damage.

The lawlman keeps on keepin on with the skill checks, this time with the fat 480 EXP for everyone.

Do not count on using Greatswords in this game.
I don't know if I've just gotten unlucky, but I haven't found a single unique Greatsword in chapter 1 or 2.
I finished the siege of Drezen with the fucking normal Greatsword I got at the start of the game because I refuse to buy just a standard +2 Greatsword from the shop.

Best weapon in the early game is a Greatsword you find just after Chapel. If you’re two-handing there’s no reason to specialize in the first place. Use your martial proficiency to use that broken Glaive!

Why is it always Greatswords?

Use Magical Weapon (and Greater version on a Masterwork one until then and you’re good. That’s what I’m doing with Longsword, but I have to because I don’t have Martial.

I guess I really was just unlucky then and missed one. That sucks!
I don't want to use another weapon because I've already pumped a bunch of feats and mythic levels into specifically Greatswords, it's too late to go back.
I'm doing okay even without the Magical Weapon spell, but I guess it'll be good to have.

What Feats and Mythic Feats are weapon specific?
Here are the ones I have:
  • Weapon Focus (Greatsword)
  • Weapon Specialization (Greatsword)
  • Greater Weapon Focus (Greatsword)
  • Weapon Focus (Mythic) (Greatsword)
I've also got Dazzling Display, which I guess I could use if I picked another weapon for the focus.

I just think Greatswords are neat!

Agreed. Love ‘em to death. Those are good feats in Baldur’s Gate. Here you have some more options.

Here's a good Greatsword:

LustrousBlade.jpg

It's in an area that pops up East of Drezen after you kill the Chapel boss. Probably a Perception check involved.

I don't see any areas pop up east of Drezen after killing the Chapel boss, huh. Maybe I needed to clear out a few more demon armies before starting the siege.
What are better feats to take for a fighter? I'm genuinely curious, I've never really gotten deep into the mechanics of CRPG combat, usually just spam buffs/debuffs and take whatever skills do the most damage.
Here are the feats on my 2h fighter at the start of Chapter 3:

Let's go kill optional Bosses.

HardZachStats.jpg

Angels and Liches do not mix. This is Hard Zach. Notice no SR again. Bludgeoning 15 is same as Vordokai but we're only level 8 here. Object of the game is to keep him from getting that spell off.

Zach Debuffs.jpg

That Bludgeoning DR really slowing down the process, but we've got all the necessary debuffs in place, and Crispy takes advantage. Casters are often the best targets for CMs. Found a pic of my CM specialist from Alpha:

lvl13student.jpg

Student has some abilities that boost it too, then of course you've got True Strike and Touch of Good and the like. Student gets INT to AC.

Seelah whacks Zach.jpg

Looking like he's getting it off despite Seelah's massive whack. She gets DR bypass from the almighty Smite Evil. How did Nenio lose her spell?

Zach kills himself.jpg

Probably because she's Blinking. Not sure if she dodged the grasp because of that too. Blink + Image seems like solid tank material if we can get her AC somewhere reasonable. I've been using the Protection from Evil/Chaos Communals on these Hard fights and I think this is where these DRs are coming from? Not complaining. Zach didn't get the DR and dies to his own spell. As with Swarm Area, bring Bludgeoning for this fight.

Hardstonestats.jpg

The Stone Golems down here aren't easy on Hard either. But Infinitron's AC is up to 37 (without Fighting Defensively) and with debuffing the attack rolls should be pretty safe, but taking no chances. Nenio always has a Displacement on tap.

GolemSlow.jpg

Just when you think you're in the clear he busts out a Free Action Slow. Should have checked to see if Hardy (Dwarven racial +2 saves) kicked in on this Spell-like Ability. You can see the loot that's the reward for messing with this room. Very Valuable.

Hard Stone.jpg

Third hit will benefit soon from Shatter and Cornugan, but not on Golems. Lucky to hit, but getting that damage to 28 against a Neutral non-Outsider was hard work.

GargChiefStats.jpg

Let's head down the hill and take care of this guy with our buffs running out before we rest.

Going Poorly.jpg

Or not. Lann's Spike Stones held them up for awhile, but don't have the ranged firepower yet to make them pay. Blasphemy paralyzed Lann for ten minutes no Save and when I tried the Mythic Dispel thing it seemed like it was taking at least a Full Round. Blasphemy Dazes even if you make the Save so that could have been the problem.

Reload and rest and see how we do then.

Looks pretty Solid. I find the Focus Feats underwhelming since Cleaves and AoOs are all full BAB. Improved Initiative is good to hit them before they hit you, and Shake it Off on all melee is solid. I don't like the Critical Focus Feats that much since you're usually killling stuff you're critting anyway. The Ever Ready Mythic is probably better than Reflexes and saves you a Feat but maybe on Fighter you've got enough Feats that isn't worth it. Improved Cleaving Finish is good to pick up when you can, as is Great Cleave. If you're going for Cleaves you pretty much want to go all the way. The Vital Strikes can be good to pick up vs single targets later on.

Hammer the Gap is definitely not what you want to be doing - that's for dual wielders. You want big single hits. Weapon Specialization is not nearly as good as it was in other games because you've got so many other sources of massive damage, but it's consistent and multiplies on crits. I like it better than a Sneak die.

Take two

Scribing Fireballs.jpg

Productive rest. That's a DC 26 Controlled Fireball scroll Nenio scribed, and Onion Soup gives everybody +1 on Saves and Nenio +4 on all skills.

straightSos.jpg

Can the unrivaled attractive power of Infinitron do the impossible - turn ghey straight in a Pozzed game?

Misgenderd!.jpg

Misgendered! Owlcat better hope this pic doesn't get out.

LannHolyPerfect.jpg

Lann is out for Revenge. Eat lead Blasphemer! We've got 0.7 seconds to beat this clown's ass down. Not looking good.

Blasphemy Smited.jpg

Ho HO, who's the Chieftain now, sucka! Seelah's Blade looking particularly Lustrous. Her Shield Focus inot likely to come into play any time soon. And that's without Smite Evil on yet. Oops. Not exactly sure why he's flat-footed, but we'll take it.

InfintronSpankingHardGargBoss.jpg

Seemed like it took forever to get Infinitron around the flank for this Charge but in reality this is all taking place in one round. Now that Cornugan got the Chief Intimidated it's all over since Lann and Seelah both have Shatter. Displacer Beast Crispy and his 46 AC hanging out in the middle there taking any heat there might be away from the hammers. But Nenio's MGreater/Mythic Spell Focus 25 DC Rainbow Patterns took care of most of that.

PerectStrikeGargChief.jpg

Perfect Strike just keeps doing work. Thank level one spell Aspect of Falcon for that 19 counting as a crit. This Chief has a fat ass.

Chief Down.jpg

Lol Lann with another useless crit into the dead body for rub-ins. Best Druid Archer ever. Only Druid Archer ever.

Infinitron cleaning up Gargs.jpg

Infinitron getting some revenge for the Garg Cave while taking out the trash.

Flawless Victory. Interesting reward.

LAnn Going Off.jpg

Lann continues the pwnage on a group of random Ghouls. This Mann does not like to die.

Cornugan.jpg

Surprisingly large number of Gargs hanging out here. Seelah getting lazy, but next attack will go againt 17 AC instead of 23 thanks to Cornugan Smash. Seems pretty Mythic to me.

PerfectPattern.jpg

Nenio getting closer to her true destiny. Look at this perfect Rainbow Pattern mezzing every foe on the screen while she tanks flawlessly.

Water Sports.jpg

Lann taking the piss out of some Succubi. Your wiles can't reach this high! Time to retool for some Outsiders.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
First dungeon is fun, but Hosilla the boss is a bit of a head scratcher for me on CORE. She just wtf-hits my crew, and with the forced cutscene 2 minute before each attempt....

Guess you have to have incredible RNG to survive this.

Edit:

And of course on the next attempt all her rolls missed while I hit all mine :)

your paladin person should be able to tank her just fine, you can use your move action to drink a potion if needed
you can stock up on healing pots in the village area btw

Yeah got lucky now and got her. But she kept hitting my paladin before for 20-50 damage.

Blaming RNG is no way to accomplish that. Potions aren’t all the vendor sells. And you get Prot Evil and Barkskin potions as drops.

Main thing you need to do is burn her down ASAP. Her weapon (soon to be your weapon) AoE Fears on hit so need to give her as few chances to proc as possible. Seelah should be Immune to the Fear so load her up with Bull’s STR and Enlarge from Cam and whale.

If you’re having trouble with her you’ll have a lot more going forward. It’s a good warning.
