People, PEOPLE ! That was a cinematic made by Goodbye Kansas, it obviously didn't use in-game models and features much more animation than the game! Most of the women will still have Ellie's hairdo and no one's hair will go further than the nape of the neck in the game proper. Have you seen that screenshot of the dude in SugarOps armor with the slugs apparently growing out of his body ? I thought it was a bald woman at first!

We all know it will be shit.
But it was a nice trailer. I'd like to play that game.

Why play it now? Wait, yet again, for the Definitive Edition, where Obsidian will use those sweet Microsoft moneys to retroactively make the female companions attractive AND fuckable.

If that goes for attractive for a video game character, you all must have been traumatized into having low standards by all the recent ugly empowered characters in many games.

She is just average by video game standards.
Barely average at best by any standards. Now this 5 is considered a 7 because all the others are 3s. Women surround themselves with uglier women for a reason.

And that's an attractive woman with a non-butch haircut. Feels really incongruent with the rest of the game though. :\

Well, isn't she supposed to be dead? So we never see that model inside of the game ;).

How is this game not dead yet? Seriously, that is the most surprising thing to me. Not that it' s terrible, but it is mediocre to such an extent that I honestly believed that in a few months no one would talk about it anymore - but here we are. With these two expansions/DLCs, they will finally make use of the planets that appeared on the game's central map but that you couldn't interact with?

Completely agree, I've never seen such a forgettable game in my life. Seems all that Microsoft cash flow has to go SOMEWHERE. Pity they won't invest on Halo instead.

Doing narratives and worldbuilding that trigger the bigots is both fun and a moral imperative.
Problem, bigot?
Next DLC price just went up.

THE OUTER WORLDS PATCH 1.5.0 RELEASE NOTES

Greetings fellow spacers,

We have released Patch 1.5.0 for players playing on PC, Xbox consoles, and PlayStation consoles and you should see this the next time you launch The Outer Worlds. This patch is required in order to fix specific issues and apply any changes included.
  • Necessary files to The Outer Worlds: Murder on Eridanos have been added. Murder on Eridanos will release on March 17th!
Changes/fixes that are included in this patch are as follows:

General:
  • Save files from beyond the "point of no return" will now allow players to access the "Peril on Gorgon" and "Murder on Eridanos" DLCs. After installing a new DLC, attempting to load a save file at the end of the game will give an option to instead place the player onboard the Unreliable, with access to the rest of the Halcyon system restored.
  • Fixed an issue where Nyoka's face animations could stop updating during conversations.
  • Updated the description of the "Robophobia" Flaw to be more accurate.
  • The frame rate cap has been removed on PS5 and Series X (not Series S).
To continue to report issues you come across and to share suggestions for the game, please visit the Technical Support forums for The Outer Worlds and search to see if a fellow player has already made a thread about it to help reduce duplicate threads. If you find a thread that matches your issue or suggestion, then please feel free to leave a comment and include any details you would like to share.

If you are not able to find a similar thread, then please share it with us on our forums and then visit our publishing partner, Private Division, and share this issue with them through their support website. This will help ensure that your specific issue or suggestion is in their queue and will allow us to prioritize requests to provide the fastest possible turnaround time.

We appreciate all of you and want to thank you for your continued support, patience, and understanding while we continue to improve the game. Please continue to share with us anything you come across. Thank you all for being amazing, and we hope you continue to have fun out in the Halcyon Colony!

Reviews are out; I will leave the big link dumps to Infinitron but these two paragraphs sum it up for me

As far as I can tell there isn’t a significant effect on the story based on your roleplaying dialogue choices, but there are a couple of big decisions to make once you close in on a suspect: for one, you get to actually guess at who killed the actor, which is a refreshing breath of fresh air when so many detective games are on rails. Sure, no matter who you accuse, the final confrontation is effectively the same, but it feels great to be given the chance to make a call and then find out if you’re right or wrong about it, which is a lot more than Peril on Gorgon did. And of course, then you have to decide what to do when you discover what really happened and the secret Halcyon Helen was killed to protect, and you’re given some justification to go either way.

Gathering information comprises roughly 90 percent of my eight-hour playthrough of this DLC, with the latter being combat. For those who prefer The Outer Worlds' combat (which, in my mind, is quite clunky), you'll probably find the amount of talking unsavory.
...
While I did have a lot of fun attempting to solve the true mystery in Murder on Eridanos, the real solution to the case made me feel like my work was for nothing. That no matter what my findings and conclusions were in the case, the same result would happen regardless of my choice. This is disappointing because Obsidian had the opportunity to create a mystery that, if not thoroughly investigated, could remain unsolved.

Disco Elysium as filtered through The Outer Worlds.

NWN 2: There is a trial, gather evidence for your case. It ends the same way.
PoE: There is a trial, give your testimony. It ends the same way.
Outer Worlds: There is a murder investigation, it ends on the same way.

Obsidian lazyness is legendary at this point.
