Meanwhile, House proved his superior, godlike intelect.

Yeah, sending out six random couriers instead of one heavily armed robot convoy is pretty intelligent. As is making the door to your inner sanctum run on the same software as every other computer in the country that's proven to be child's play to hack into.

Yes, shame on Caesar for trying to reestablish civilization. He should have asked all the tribes to stop being savages nicely, I'm sure that would have worked.

Nobody likes hearing it because it butts up against 21st century western thinking, but in a setting like Fallout, imperialism is a moral imperative.

It was, for idiots with mediocre standards.

Actually, we didn't like it much either.

It's really not though. If you were living in a Fallout like setting surrounded by tribals, raiders, cannibals and deathclaws you'd jump at the chance to join a Legion like faction, assuming they'd have you.
Yes, I'd totally join the loonies.
Okay, how can he be the best option when he's willing to leave everyone outside NV and its surroundings to their fate?
This is pure speculation but we don't know how many people he will take, what's the selection process, criteria, nothing at all. It's reasonable to assume that he won't leave alone, he'll need to bring people with him. All we know for certain from him is that that is the plan in the foreseeable future, 100 years or so.

The only argument you have in favor of the Legion is the stability it brings. That's it. No prosperity of any kind, ignorance among the general populace and the soldiers, slavery and rape, murder - the only way to solve everything, bloodlust and constantly looking for battles, war and slaughter. Caesar isn't interested in taming the wasteland, he's a nutjob thinking he's infallible and can't do wrong. He keeps the Legion always looking for the next enemy, next territory to conquer. Nothing but a conqueror, but hey, you're making it seem like it's the next best thing.

The brutality of the Legion is a major problem for many, but it also brings benefits. Arizona was once a lawless wasteland where crossing two miles without a clash with raiders was a major feat. The Legion brought peace and quiet to the entire state by exterminating and enslaving the raider tribes.[9]
---Yeah, everything becomes orderly and quiet when you decimate the population in a region. I mean they killed the raiders, sure, and the others? Well the others were conscripted into the Legion as warriors and slaves and the rest were killed off. Yay, peace and order.

Gameplay convenience. Imagine the shitstorm from codexers screaming that you need a special key to reach House even if you 100 in science. C&C and all that shit. Try harder.

The odds of the courier carrying the real thing being attacked were reduced this way. But hey, instead, genius idea, let's send a heavily armed unupgraded robot that will attract the attention of everything and everyone in the desert including but not limited to NCR, Legion, Brotherhood of Steel, raiders, deathclaws, cazadors, super mutants, nightkin, ghouls, scorpions, ants, nightstalkers etc.

In all probability you would. Regardless of your current views, if you were German during WWII you would have probably joined the nazis as well. I would have too

Stability brings prosperity. And unlike House who drains everyone around him of caps like some Jew, the Legion brings stability, and by extension, prosperity to all.

I'm glad you've finally seen the light. Ave true to Caesar amicus.

Yeah, cus House keeps them at gunpoint in his casinos. He exploits their vices. They come and lose their money because they don't care (because they're rich anyway) or can't resist the temptation, none of which is House's fault.

I'm glad you've finally seen the light. Ave true to Caesar amicus.

Ave True to Caesar! A few cents from me to add:

There are civilian cities in in Legion territory in Arizona and New Mexico, what the game shows is just the Legion frontier zone, do you think you would be showed the Colosseum and Caracalla baths if you stumbled onto Roman Army Camp Comrade? You would be killed or at best case scenario captured and sold as slave, I would say the former since you would still known no latin nor Greek and are probably XXI century modern man weakling or fatass. All those whining about Legion killing and enslaving tribals is just peak liberalism this is how civilization was established in our past the authorities proclaimed the King's peace and spend 800 years hanging every retard who kept brake it until we got to the point when you could leave your house and car open... Worked fine till the soft and decadent generation of boomers decided to import more barbarians onto our cities, you cant have civilization without harsh frontier style justice first and have a feeling that most of you would just open the Vault 3 Doors wide and welcome the Fiends with open arms, well you are raised as soft headed and soft bellied nue males after all.

NCR is just USA in Nine-ties utterly corrupt and decadent if not yet in LGBT and BLM phase... Yet.

House is the Lolbeterian fantasy he got best starting position but did nothing to expand, He got even two vaults in domain but whom he chosen to employ instead? Tribesmen, what a surprise that all of them plotted to overthrown him, typical book smart man with no knowledge of people.

Yes Man is joke, the Currier spend his hole life as drifter and murder-hobo aka RPG's PC aka Heros he is not man or woman who would suddenly become father or Mother of new nation.

What we have more: Brotherhood of Steel? Another Basement dwelling techno-feticist faction who did nothing to bring order back to wasteland.

Enclave? Curb stomped by PC every time at this point its joke faction.

Followers of Apocalypse? The fresh bunch of slaves and pale of corpses as soon as they will leave the protected by House Fort.

Only factions which has means and realistic goals and methods to build something new and not only another copy of failed Kwa is Legion.

I dont do what if, faroff, unseen.

And you guys are too fucking busy with the what if and unseen.

You are anti-NCR because of the unseen atrocity in faroff interior regions of NCR.

You are pro-Legion because of the unseen city and civilized behaviors in the faroff Legion lands.

For fuck's sake, Codexers!

Did Ho Shi Minh and Marshal Giap talked the French, Americans and Puppet Dictatorship in south to leave and give up power by power of worlds alone Comrade? All political power comes from barrel of gun or in Legion case tip of spear.

Considering that one of the primary reasons Fallouts 3 and 4 were ripped into so heavily was how shoddily their worlds / plots were constructed, House taking precautions above and beyond Science 100 would probably have gone over fairly well. It's pretty telling that you'll make excuses for Obsidian, but not Bethesda.

If the un-upgraded securitrons are pushovers, as you suggest, why haven't the other factions run roughshod over the Vegas Strip?

When you're right, you're right. Clearly small tribes that could be easily wiped out or bureaucratic nightmares that are trying to emulate the same governments that almost literally ended the world are the only way forward.

Utter speculation. I'm not making excuses for anyone, it's what I've noticed over the years: damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I presented a possibility of an attack from multiple opponents from various sides while traversing a large portion of the desert. You referred to a coordinated attack on the Strip from one or two groups of raiders. Not the same thing. Also the Strip is better protected than being in the middle of the desert. But hey, these details don't matter so what do I know.

When you're right, you're right. Clearly small tribes that could be easily wiped out or bureaucratic nightmares that are trying to emulate the same governments that almost literally ended the world are the only way forward.
Yes, going from one extreme to the other, no middle ground. A self sustaining town or city with adequate protection and participating in trade, commerce in general? No, unthinkable, unachievable, cannot be done.
On the other hand: murder, rape, slavery? Yes, totally, awesome, good, moral and every other adjective under the Sun.

Oh no, a commie being a fan of the Legion? Truly surprising, yes, unexpected.
And I also learned a new thing: apparently I'm now a liberal, sorry, a peak liberal because I don't support murder and slavery and everything that comes from it under any circumstances. Exciting.

In fairness "People will complain either way, so why try?" does sound consistent for an asset flip with a $60 price tag.

Funny enough, I didn't refer to an attack from one or two groups of raiders, I just said factions. Raiders, NCR, Legion, BoS, turncoats from House's people, what have you. I just think it's funny that the army of security robots is somehow a disadvantage in the Mojave, but not on The Strip.

In a setting like Fallout's, if you're the former, you're going to be overrun by the latter. Realistically, only a group like the Legion is going to effectively withstand other groups like the Legion. Caesar did nothing wrong.

I never assigned any politics to you, bro. Truthfully, Caesar's Legion is going to be disagreeable to almost anyone in the present day (African Codexers notwithstanding of course), regardless of personal politics.
