This guy is hilarious and also a complete moron who says he doesn't like to read and tries to steal from every vendor, despite putting no points into stealing. But he makes a few good points on what may need to be tweaked.

- A quick start option with maybe a few general builds to choose from (talker, fighter, etc.) may be a good idea.
- The autoscrolling seems a bit too fast.
- Automatic comparison of store item stats to the equipped item stats is a very good idea.
- There seems to be a bug that a bought piece of armor still stays in the inventory box after being equipped.
- Maybe reducing the amount of text right in the beginning in a few places is a good idea too. The big text dumps can still come later after you have done some exploring and fighting.

Why does this game look just as empty as and as railroaded as AoD.
It's probably the same thing but prettier. Not so bad but heavily railroaded , rather short but getting a free pass and defended by a group of fanatics here.

What a shame.
Eh, I wasn't serious, just stressing the contrast between those games and CS. 'Dating sim' tag, even a user's one implies at least some emphasis on that stuff and that would be highly inappropriate for this kind of game. Few possible sexual encounters - maybe but what's the point? Better just drop it or keep pestering Vince with it for no reason.

You think the RPG with the most actual C&C is railroaded? And it's relatively short only for talker builds that skip most combat.

Needless to say, a lot of the content in a C&C-heavy RPG cannot even be seen in just one playthrough.

By C&C I assume you meant character creation, as your choices are pretty much predetermined by the stat distribution.

The cyoa book with the most C&C yes, different playthrough required to redo ton of the same stuff for little change teleporting from area to areas. Also using only one character drastically reduce the tactical interest. It's an honest good attempt for an indie, but i wont rate it as fabulous like the fanatics here, who defend the game mostly because vince mentioned their name.

He's right on that, you pass the stat requirement you are allowed to see the content, no margin of error , no roll.So better use the devs prebuilt characters.

I think it's a bit of an exaggeration to say everything is defined in the character creation, but it's the Codex, hyperbole is almost required for posting. Regarding Colony Ship, we are tweaking the C&C design a bit. For example:

Once you get back from the Habitat, The Pit will have different sets of quests depending on which of the 3 leaders ended on top in this chapter. So instead of frontloading everything like we did in Teron, and then when you came back there was nothing, here you will have three alternate paths down the road (apart from all the faction quests in the habitat). Also, reputation (combat/diplomacy/stealth) will matter a lot. How you solve quests in the early and mid-game will define which type of quests and opportunities you get later on. So if you solve things via stealth here, you will get offered some cool sneaking opportunities in the late game. Same for diplomacy and combat. Basically, we moved away from the "railroad tracks" design of AoD into something more systemic. At first you'll be able to do a lot, build a reputation on how you solve things, and then the game splits to accommodate the kind of character you built.
