I don't watch let's plays, streams and similar things, but I accidentally stumbled upon a chanel, where some middle age woman plays: Morrowind, Baldur's Gate, Deus Ex, Arcanum and System Shock. Even makes some mods for Morrowind. That's so unusual, what the actual fuck?!

Here's her youtube channel - https://www.youtube.com/c/DanaePlays/videos

Lilura is that you by chance?

E3 on June 12-15: https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2021/04/06/2205111/0/en/E3-2021-Game-On.html

LOS ANGELES, April 06, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- It’s “Game On.” for E3, as The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) officially unveils plans for a reimagined, all-virtual E3 2021 that will engage video game fans everywhere. With early commitments from Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games and Koch Media, and more to come, E3 2021 will take place June 12 through June 15.

Developers will be showcasing their latest news and games directly to fans around the world. The ESA will be working with media partners globally to help amplify and make this content available to everyone for free.

“For more than two decades, E3 has been the premier venue to showcase the best that the video game industry has to offer, while uniting the world through games,” said Stanley Pierre-Louis, President & CEO of the ESA. “We are evolving this year’s E3 into a more inclusive event, but will still look to excite the fans with major reveals and insider opportunities that make this event the indispensable center stage for video games.”

While maintaining E3’s longstanding position as a central destination for industry networking -- where new partnerships and connections between video game publishers, developers and media are made -- the digital format for E3 2021 means more people than ever can participate.

The ESA looks forward to coming back together to celebrate E3 2022 in person. In the meantime, see you online this June!

Returning for E3: https://www.pcgamer.com/the-pc-gaming-show-and-future-games-show-return-on-june-13/

The PC Gaming Show and Future Games Show return on June 13
PC Gamer and GamesRadar join forces to deliver 150+ minutes of new announcements, trailers, and never-before-seen games this summer.

PC Gamer is delighted to announce the return of our annual summer showcase, the PC Gaming Show, broadcasting on June 13.

The PC Gaming Show will be part of an exciting double-header digital show with GamesRadar's Future Games Show. The PC Gaming Show is the biggest broadcast event dedicated to PC gaming, drawing 5.9M viewers in 2020 across platforms.

Together, the events provide a stage to major releases and smaller projects alike, showcasing the full spectrum of what's happening in gaming.

The PC Gaming Show began in 2015 with the goal of uniting the disparate creators and hardware makers that comprise the hobby under one roof, shining a light on the vibrancy of the open gaming platform. Previous games featured at the PC Gaming Show include Valheim, XCOM 2, Borderlands 3, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord, Warframe, Baldur's Gate 3. Past broadcasts have featured Xbox, Intel, AMD, Oculus VR, Blizzard, and legendary game designers like Warren Spector. Read more about the show's background in "The history of the PC Gaming Show."

The Future Games Show is GamesRadar’s flagship digital games showcase which debuted in June 2020 and was hosted by Uncharted stars Nolan North and Emily Rose. This was followed by the Future Games Show @Gamescom in August 2020 and Future Games Show: Spring Showcase in March 2021. Previous games featured at the Future Games Show include Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Back 4 Blood, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, Sifu and Bright Memory Infinite. The Future Games Show has reached over 45 million views across all events, working with over 40 publishers including Sony, Warner Bros. Games, Ubisoft, Team17 and many more.

In case you missed it, you can catch up with all the Future Games Show: Spring Showcase game reveals right here. The Future Games Show on June 13, 2021 will feature a mix of indie and triple-A titles across all formats, including PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PC and mobile.

Earlier this week, ESA (Entertainment Software Association) confirmed plans for a free-to-attend digital E3 event from June 12-15. The world’s biggest games showcase is usually held in Los Angeles each summer but has been on pause since the start of the pandemic. E3 2021 aims to ‘showcase the best that the video game industry has to offer’ with confirmed partners including Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games, and Koch Media.

Back when the id guys were still working at SoftDisk, John Carmack developed the first game engine capable of scrolling on the PC, something that only consoles were powerful enough to do at the time. It took one night for Tom Hall to paint up all the artwork for them to remake the first Mario level. They inserted a game character from one of John Romero's games called Dangerous Dave and left the disk on Romero's desk to find when he came in the next morning.

It took them a weekend to copy the whole game, which they sent to Nintendo along with a request to be able to release it as an official PC port of Mario. Nintendo turned them down.

Imagine the timeline where Carmack, Romero and Hall became Nintendo's go-to guys in the west, eventually causing them to rise through the ranks. The spirit and scope of Romero tempered by Hall's design chops, with Carmack's tecknical brain creating new software standards and hardware implementation. We'd have a full-on VR console at this point.

Quest 2 is already new VR console and it sells like mad and Carnack is technical lead on it.

Fucker figured out how to do all motion tracking on wait for it... part of chip that handles encoding and decoding video and motion tracking is basically perfect. And it is done simultaneously with video encoding as Quest 2 instead of using raw video and audio uses video decoding and encoding so Quest 2 stream actually takes around 150mbit/s which means that you can connect it to PC via USB2 cable or stream directly over wifi without issues.

Fucker also figured out how to make it low latency by spliting converted image into multiple parts WHILE it encodes meaning before last part of encoding happens previous few parts rest of picture is already in headset decoded.
