Someone should make a graph of The Codex, detailing its incline and decline.

I'm sorry, but not only does your new graph make no sense at all, but Wiz8 being worse than Arcanum is plain ronk, and Wiz8 starting 'teh decline' is just plain old fashioned heresy.

It's a work in progress. Any suggestion for improvements? When it reaches it's final stage I will start using it when arguing with people on other message boards.

Cloacked figure can you please explain how come Oblivion goes way back to 2002 before getting back to 2006? Is the drop in quality so bad that it travels back in time? But if that is the case wouldn't it traveling forward in time? I mean 2002 was still close to the golden age. Me puzzled.

P.S. You should try not having 2 values on the y axis for one value on x...

That's just how fucked up the game is.

I don't think ARPGs caused the decline. As far as RPGs go, that particular subgenre was always the "mainstream". What is really causing the decline is the recycling of old RPG subgenres, plots, characters, etc. The Decline is really The Stagnation. It's all in your head yo'. By the way, the graph needs more bloom... and rendered tits.
I agree with aRPGs not causing the decline. But the problem isn't stagnation either. Or can you name any recent RPGs that are as good as those 10 years ago? And aRPGs are in decline, too. Stagnation would'nt be perfect, either, but a lot better than the current situation. The reason is stupid* devs making stupid* games for stupid* target demographics (read: consoletards).

(*stupid of course means anything that does not agree with my tastes ;) )

PS: CF breaks his(?) fast on shit and it has filled the empty space between his(?) ears.

Also, why are big pictures now stretching out all the posts again? I thought that was resolved to everyone's satisfaction.

That's easy.

The Codex = y

y = x^(-1) , 0 ≤ X < ∞, where X is time in any measurement.
detailing its incline and decline.
There's no difference between them, it's a constant function, where the incline represents the interval between 0 and X, and the decline any value greater than X. By my calculations, X was somewhere around 2002.

Also, if you look closely at my formula, you will see a disturbing revelation.

Codex function that will satisfy all the Codexers:

Codex(t)=

(t-t')+

(t-t'')+

(t-t''')+...,

where t', t'', t'''... - time of your posts.

In a decade or so, this simple equation will be the cause of the Codex bubble bursting, leading to the inevitable crash, global correction, international flirtation with experiments in socialism and the elevation of a darkhorse candidate to the position of webmaster of rpgcodex.net.
