Show me how terrible the camera is.
Not showing anything because I don't have it installed, but the last time I played a non-evil playthrough I had an issue where Okku the bear would always block part of the camera when playing in third-person mode. And that was only the most dire issue.
Classical example of PEBKAC.

rpgs with bad combat don't belong in the top 50
Arguably true, but the Codex's last Top 100 RPGs poll disagrees:

NWN was perfectly playable, only newfags who didn't play it on release expect post 2010 UI/camera etc. As for MOTB, I dunno that it left such a strong impression apart from being annoyed with retarded world setting where Bishop gets the wall for giving religion a finger.

I played and completed NWN2 at launch with its pre-patch camera, so calling it “unplayable” seems a bit histrionic.

Calling it “good”, or even “acceptable”, is disingenuous though.
I prefer the terms "tolerable with a bit of work" and "better than BG3."

In a world where a bunch of gods are provably real, there's nothing wrong with obstinate dummies who refuse to choose one to worship getting stuck in a wall where they're slowly eaten.

That posting is weird and rather off-putting. You're a newfangled game studio made up of veterans, what business do you have hiring a Lead Designer?

I mean, you either have a strong vision for what your game is supposed to be, that you can impose on your team and your players... or... what, exactly? Expect a newly-hired Lead Designer to fix your deficiency?

Codex Year of the Donut Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
Game Director != Lead Designer

For example, you know who the lead designer of Pillars of Eternity 2 was? Not Josh Sawyer!

I understand you hold Obsidian in high esteem.

But this studio is not a mini-Obsidian, and at any rate, Obsidian's terminology is in no way indicative of a generalized order of things in game development.

Responding to your edit:

I did not know that, and this basically proves my point: That person, and I assure you I am uninterested in who that might be, might as well have not existed.

Play local Unity builds frequently and review and implement game features in Unity.

:dead:

Qualifications

  • A passion for story-focused RPGs and RPG-hybrids.
  • 7+ years of experience in a Gameplay focused design role, preferably with time spent focused on moment to moment gameplay or level design.
  • At least one shipped AA or AAA title in the role of Sr. or Lead Designer.

Yeah, uh, good luck with that.

Experience working with an existing brand or franchise.

So it's a licensed title huh. Wonder who's funding this?

Title inflation. It's not as bad as Finance where everyone's a VP, but in an industry where a lot of people are underpaid, designer titles tend to go from "junior designer" to "lead designer" without any stops along the way.

Your AAA games being released today have something like half a dozen "lead designers" because they'll have a lead designer for monetization, another for systems, another for matchmaking, and so on. Even a writer or two with the title of "lead narrative designer" because they write in-game item descriptions and fetch-quest dialog. It's so frustrating that Sawyer actually did a 30 minute talk about which lead designers should outrank each other.

TLDR: "Lead Designer" means "Senior Designer".

I literally have no idea what people are thinking when they say the camera is terrible, except that they probably haven't played it.
NWN2's camera and controls *are* horrible. Let's not rewrite history here.
Horrible enough for me to abandon a MotB-playthrough. Twice.

At the very least, this means it's going to be a long wait before we see anything out of Zeitsimancy. Doesn't seem like they're storming out of the gate with a fleshed out idea and plan.
