Another retro double pack re-release from Disney. This time it's Lucasfilm's Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Ghoul Patrol. But unlike the last time remastering is done by DotEmu instead of Digital Eclipse.

Somewhat interesting, janky, first-person games.

Forest Grove is a first-person mystery game where you uncover forensic clues, solve puzzles, and piece together a story using your own conclusions. Will you be able to solve the case?

Zooey Kunstimatigaard, the teenage heiress to a billion-dollar tech fortune, was reported missing by her stepmother Mary. She was last seen in her bedroom in Forest Grove, OR.

The National Crime Unit uses this as an opportunity to roll out their newest technology, the Nanodeck, to investigate the scene, collect evidence, and unmask the truths behind her disappearance.

Relationships and secrets must be revealed. If foul play is suspected, those responsible must be brought to justice!

ForestGrove_StorePage_Titles_InspectEvidence.png

As you canvass the scene you will discover items and collect evidence such as DNA, Fingerprints, Perspiration Metabolites, and more. Multiple pieces of evidence can be associated together to tell a story. It's up to you to figure out what that story is.

The Kunstimatigaard's are fond of puzzles. You'll need to solve them to discover more clues.

Uncover a cast of characters with stories and conversations of their own. Does someone know more than they are willing to admit?

You are a field doctor's assistant who was heading to a distant village to help local peasants. Someone attacked your stagecoach and you wake up in a mass grave, being the only survivor. Curb your fear because you are waiting for facing incredible beasts and monsters, and you are only human.

The brutal and dangerous world of Redemption of the Damned will not give the chance to slack off, the slightest mistake may be the last. Remember: you are just a simple person and your opponents are creepy monsters from fairy tales and legends that turned out to be a deadly reality.

SURVIVE
In the first turn the enemy is dangerous not by the number. Even among people there are those who themselves want to see how the world is ablaze. Learn supernatural hunting techniques and help the locals. Don't forget about yourself, because you also need water, food and sleep. But the most important thing is not to go crazy.

EXPLORE
The RoD world is much bigger than it seems. How many secrets lie in forgotten but not abandoned ruins? How many answers can you find in the dark corners of the world around you? But you need to be careful and attentive, because mortal danger is everywhere.

HUNT
You will have to hunt dangerous beasts and supernatural monsters - ordinary weapons will not help much. Carefully study your enemy, prepare thoroughly and remember the most important rule of any hunter - "always finish the fallen creature, without giving a chance for revenge".

WATCH YOUR BACK
In addition to ordinary monsters, there are those who remain in the shadows. Those about whom the legends have been made during the centuries. Standard methods cannot cope with this. Use the changing daytime to get an advantage. Keep an eye on the moon phases and be aware of the fact that anything can go not according to the plan.

Well, most people buying that game at this point (it's re-released last year on Steam) know what they're getting.

There may be more to that when it comes to Steam re-releases.

People just buy old stuff they are nostalgic for and submit their asinine "This game was my childhood 40 years ago, just buy it" reviews almost reflexively with little to no play time. Some even note the play time of 0.7 hours should be ignored as their actual play time on PS2 or their old PC with WinXP is much longer.

Who cares if the game is a lazy as-is cash grab, without compatibility fixes to make it... playable for the clueless sods you're recommending it to?

Another city building game where it's way too easy to get sky-scrapers. Big yawn.
that's not necessarily bad, after all it's relatively easy in modern times to raise a skyscraper. look at dubai, even throwing money at the sand works. what i'd really want instead is some marked difference between levels. have you ever tried to go after that trailer park style in skylines? completely impossible, even the barest minimum results in nice buildings.

That's one reason why SimCity4 is still the best by far.

I really can't think of many games younger than 200r so which improved things, in any genre.
