So she did porn at some point, omg how dare she demand respect and actually get it
Isn't the point that if you're okay with doing porn you are probably not a prude that will get offended by dirty private messages? If I posted images of my private parts all over these forums then you would think it was strange if I was horrified if someone sent me a sexual pm? Would it not seem like I had some ulterior motive if I pretended to be and went public with it? MCA's only crime is being a fattie and being cringe at hitting on women. That is one of the worst crimes and much worse than murder but not legally.

Doing porn doesn't suddenly make you open to all kinds of offers. You are still a person with boundaries, friends, colleagues, people you let in your inner circle and those you leave out. That pm wasn't shitty just because it was sexual. It was shitty because it obviously breached a boundary between her and Chris and apparently, they didn't have the kind of relationship or prior intimacy to just simply permit that kind of message. Chris wouldn't even be apologizing if it were any other way.

The whole thing is about building and maintaining trust and when you receive an unsolicited message like that that simply doesn't respect your boundaries, it breaks that trust.

OH BUT SHE DID PORN SO WHATEVER AMIRITE

Do you even know anyone who (used to) whore themselves out? Knew a woman, turned out she was doing lots of shady shit with a lumpen crowd. It fundamentally changed (from a reasonable baseline) the way she viewed herself, her worth, her dignity, friends, """romantic""" relationships, even instant/delayed gratification turned for the worse.

Being a skank isn't a punch-clock thing.

Yes, I have friends who are sex workers. They are some of my favourite friends and some of the best people I know. Everyone's experience is different, of course.

Are you saying sex workers are all lonely people without any friends?

I am saying that anyone can make any sort of claims on an Internet forum, and the veracity of those claims is up in the air. Doubly so when they are used to back up ideological arguments.

He asked me if I knew any sex workers and gave an example to back up his own "ideological argument". Well, I do and I am at fault for that now?

So do I. For some reason they're not tend to freak out over some harmful pms. Especially years later, suddenly. As for gold-digging whores - I somewhat agree that USA men have brought it on themselves - that's part of the Burr's joke actually but that doesn't change whore's malice. Which is relevant in the current case.

Your daily reminder that Cherry Blossom is a troll and all she posts is bait. And yes, I'm speaking from experience.

Ask them about their relations with their fathers.

Eh, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Social attitudes towards sex workers are a subjective matter varying from culture to culture and from time to time. Ultimately, there is nothing inherently shameful in using one's body to earn an honest pay.

You should appreciate trolls like Cherry more. Would it not be boring if everyone just nodded and agreed all the time? There must always be someone to take an outrageously retarded position to make sure you got your head on straight. Cherry is that special retard and you should be thankful for it. Otherwise you or I would have to do it and we could not be the lesser retards on this topic.

I am so dumb! I have been doing it for free all this time and my labor has been shamelessly exploited. Next time I'm demanding payment.

What were we talking about again? Not sure how we started going on about sex workers.

Every relationship is transactional. Some earn money, others emotional support or what have you. :M
Emotional support can't buy you stuff so I have been seriously ripped off. Would you accept emotional support in a factory job? No way!

Perhaps. But I'm not sure you can treat sex work the same way as any kind of work. You can treat sex as just another commodity and you can have rules about what people should and shouldn't do to get ahead in their profession, but not both. Many of the problems we are discussing have to do with how dating and work tend to clash when thrown together. Would you like to throw sex work into this mess?

If my daughter says: "Dad, I want to be a prostitute." I will be sad and feel she is wasting her life, if she says she is going to be a gaming journalist though, now, there I would get seriously worried though, at least sex workers provide a real service for the community.
