Yeah I'm not bothered about that kind of metagaming for my first playthrough. I'm just curious if there are any skills that come up a LOT more than other ones, or have more important checks associated with them.

Otherwise I'll just put points into whatever
I'd say Perception, Shivers, and Inland Empire. But the game is more about choosing the subset of skills that sound more fun to you and following them while they repeatedly fuck you in the ass. To that extent, my favorite probably are Logic, Drama, and Suggestion.
How many skills am I supposed to specialise in anyway?

If you really want to game the system just
put your early points into encyclopedia and conceptualization and then get the thoughts Actual Art Degree and Wompty-Dompty Dom Centre asap (so by day 3). If done right you'll have xp to spare on whatever you want by the later half of the game.

However for a first playthrough you really shouldn't be thinking about this, the game has enough dialogue on everything that even if you choose a skill with a lower amount that the rest it won't bother you, so just choose whatever's cool. The game has a nice description for each if you press on the "info" part of them when doing your character.
My favorites are Esprit de Corps, Physical Instrument, Authority and Volition.

You can specialise in one or two while keeping the others youre interested in relatively high.

On previous page this guys allegedly counted them all:
In case someone finds this useful. Here are the total number of checks for various Skills:

Empathy 805
Logic 701
Rhetoric 701
Inland Empire 584
Perception 479
Half Light 438
Conceptualization 430
Volition 412
Esprit de Corps 401
Electro-Chemistry 378
Encyclopedia 377
Suggestion 372
Reaction Speed 372
Authority 371
Drama 357
Composure 311
Shivers 278
Physical Instrument 252
Interfacing 243
Endurance 194
Pain Threshold 190
Visual Calculus 179
Savoir Faire 143
Hand-Eye Coordination 99
But obviously more <> better. Some Visual Calculus stuff is simply awesome, for instance. By choosing one build or another you may lock some content, especially if you'll check hardcore option but in this game, it's totally fine. This is the last game where you'd want to savescum for the same reason: the very nature of the game. So, just choose whatever skills you want, I'd only suggest to invest either in blue or purple branch, not both but even that is entirely up to you.

I can heartily recommend playing something outrageous and insane on the first playthrough. Feels like that's how the game was meant to be played.

The political quests kinda suck to be honest, are the main writers working on the studio's next game or something? Also, they promised 150,000 words worth of new content in the Final Cut. Maybe I'm missing a lot of stuff but there doesn't seem to be anywhere near that amount.

The big new thing is the voice acting though and that is generally good although there's a fair amount of lines that could have used a couple more takes.
The moralist and communist quests seem to be the best ones, moralist specially since it expands on the lore and actually lets you talk with the higher ups at the moralintern. Fascist's good for expanding Harry's character a bit more but not much else and ultralib seems to be completely be a joke more than anything else tbh, although helping Idiot Doom Spiral a bit is a nice detail

Also Fascist has a unique portrait.

Speaking of fascist playthroughs, the
Revacholian Nationhood perk
is the most useless thing in the entire game. I have a hunch the developers were trolling me :rpgcodex:

It Is useless because you go nazi with racial theory and then you give up al-ghul otherwise you would be a degenerate.

A little bit of technical help is required. The game constantly recognises me as wearing one shoe/no shoes at all. Admittedly I used save editing to warp in a pair which is inaccessible otherwise (Brown Derbies - Disco Elysium Wiki (fandom.com)), but other than that the item works correctly. Any of you fine gentlemen know where, within a save, I can edit this "shoes recognised" parameter?

Yeah I'm thinking 1 Intellect build for my first playthrough then play a max Intellect autist for my second one
Why not max INT and academia so you can pass encyclopedia checks and read about stuff?

Second playtrought, you'd hate developer's agenda, and would play as racist educated with racist title. And doing some shit.

The game isn't that much replayable. You can LARP some shit, but that's limited.

Four if one is to be pedantic (a.i. with or without the expression, bearded or shaved). :M
My biggest fuck up in the game was that i shaved :negative:
Why would you do that?
I expected to form them up,not clean shaved :(

I wish that "Waste Land of Reality" would also slightly change Harry's portrait - make his face and eyes slightly less bloated etc.

Because I don't know if I actually care about any of that shit ATM, also it seems funny to me to be an idiot wandering around in a world I don't understand

Since my real life is being an intellectual wandering around in a world I don't understand

If you want to make a "full" playthrough, just edit your save and set all your initial Skills at 4. You'll get 90% of all passive reactions, and most unique dialogue opportunities sans those unlocked by the Thought Cabinet.

Every time you restart the game, Tutorial Agent checkbox is disabled even if you enabled it before quitting.

I'm about 5-10 hours into the game and I can safely assume the thing doesn't even work even with the checkbox enabled. Didn't see any tutorials whatsoever.

I think the only way to make it work is to delete settings folder + disable Steam Cloud AND play right after starting the game for the first time without quitting. Since I didn't test that little theory I cannot guarantee anything though.

So, it's been 3 months already. Where the fuck is the patch? They released Final Cut with a broken feature and don't give a shit.

Finished today. I'm not very good in english, but I wanted to try to play anyway. Best decision in my gaming-life probably, this game will literally influence my coming days as a human being

Do me a favour, kid. Don't ever, EVER, say what you just said in the shoutbox. Got it?
