This ridiculous conversation misses the whole point of PF design.

Which is making Martial Proficiency matter. There are only a few classes that need to restrict themselves to one weapon at all. If you want Shatter sure take Focus but it's only +1. Very minor consideration.

People still playing the games in their head instead of the one in front of them. The irony is that Owlcat spammed weapons all over the place in response to all this retarded whining and still people cry because they just assume it isn't gift-wrapped for them when it in fact is.
You're correct in stating that Wrath's weapons are better distributed than Kingmaker's, where some weapons REALLY got shafted (like Bardiches) and some were too prevalent (greataxes)

Irovetti’s is pretty good but the only reason to use Bardiche instead of Fauchard is Martial vs Exotic and if you’ve got that you can easily slide in the Glaive. Holding off on Improved Crit until you see what you’ve got is a good general approach.

Why can’t weapon specialization be like it was in Baldur’s Gate 1? Fair sized categories, so you still have some specialization of a sort but it’s not retarded?

It's funny you should say that, since BG1 specialization is already in the game in the form of the Fighter's Weapon Training.

Pathfinder is already better about this. Fighters pick a group (like heavy blades) rather than a specific weapon.

The really specific weapon specialisation tends to be in certain archetypes for various classes.

My point earlier was that it seems most players do tend to prefer to stick to one weapon or one weapon type. Often they end up building it into their characters background.

I just hate being a martial character and running into a cool martial weapon that I’m not specialized in, but oh well

Bardiches are more aesthetically pleasing than Glaives

yeah it's such a simple argument I can't for my life understand why people are so protective of their specialization systems

Yeah always found outright specialisation into specific weapons kinda dumb.

Then again I guess it makes sense for certain classes that may be masters of a specific weapon.

Then... don't pick specialization feats? It's not like anyone or anything forces you to do that.

What's this "specialization system" that supposedly exists in this game anyway? Weapon Focus and Improved Critical? If you want to play the "master of a single weapon" you can do so at your own peril, if you want to be able to use all the weapons with the same efficiency then just pick other feats.

Shatter defenses is the big one.

But Shatter Defenses works regardless of the weapon you use. Did they change that in WotR?

I've always preferred to get keen on a weapon rather than taking the improved critical feat. Always felt the cost of the enhancement is much less than the value of a feat.

Edit: What Sorinmask says is correct purely in regards to monks/brawlers, but I'm mostly referring to weapon users.

Perfect example of what I'm talking about.

There's a Cavalier archetype that does in fact get Weapon Training but you'd rather whine and cry about the shitty game in your head than play the good one that in fact exists.

Bathetic.

I've been playing RPGs for about a quarter of a century now, and I've seen less than the 10 fingers I have on my 2 hands, a game that gives you an item that improves critical chances on unarmed attacks.

Sorry. But, not sorry. I disagree.

Where exactly did I mention unarmed attacks in my post? Wasn't the clue when I mentioned the enchant keen?

Your fists are a weapon.

A game designer should treat them as such.

OK, I don't know what my post had to do with games design? I was merely saying that when I play weapon wielding martials, I prefer to get the keen enchant rather than waste a feat on improved critical.

Not sure why that made you so butthurt.
