Have you considered that the tastes of the site are biased towards european games because ...europeans make up a majority of the posters?
Big brain moment.

Next we'll have to figure out why 4chan likes jrpgs so much. Surely nothing to do with all the weeaboos.
Your own example, 2020 codex goty: WL3 wins against CP77, not to mention Dungeon of Naheulbeuk. Extreme levels of biasedness, indeed.
It's hard to deny american superiority, I agree

He had to reach into other genres to list 11 games going back 11 years and including early access titles despite there probably being 500 indie games released for every AAA game.

If we tried we could list 11 great indie games from the last 3 years. But fair enough. Gives us 11 great AAA from last 11 years including early access titles. This shouldn't be that difficult. Go rusty! Don't need to dodge the question, when you can easily prove to us AAA superiority. It's your time to shine, so why you are running away?
Why would I answer you when I know it's frustrating you so much, midwit?

SO MUCH kindergarten energy here.

Low production cost always wins out in the end and America is expensive thanks to socialist governmental policies that makes many national industries less attractive for investors and companies than cheaper alternatives.

Only some parts of the US are very expensive.

But, for some reason, the most expensive places are the places where game studios like to set up shop and force everyone to move to.

Could cut a not-insignificant amount of the budget just by moving to a cheaper location.
There are many things you need to take into consideration. Like levels of education and experienced game developers and more. In many if not most parts of America wages are pushed up by ridiculous welfare policies. If those places you think of would be ideal for game studios there would be many there already.

Not sure why any of that means they should be paying a few thousand for rent + increased wages because of cost of living when they could move to an area that cost 600 and make the same game with more profit.

I think a lot of it has to do with game dev culture being cartoonishly lib and most game devs + even employees not even considering the possibility of living alongside the unwashed and unenlightened.

If Todd Howard had made Age of Decadence rather than the Elder Scrolls, it wouldn't have given him a fraction of the wealth, fame, and power he currently possesses.

So what, am I supposed to empathize with his choice to abandon any pretense to artisanship in exchange for a bag of shekles and a place at a wannabe-movie premiere where cheaply bought d-list celebrities shit all over the ‘product’ he was pushing (and totally sidelined his people who actually made it)?
If I had to choose between being Todd Howard or Vince, I'd take Todd Howard's position any day of the week. Anyone else pretending otherwise is a big fat liar.
Video games are entertainment, Todd's money is generational wealth for your family.

Todd has a family?
Yup, married to a schoolteacher if I remember correctly and also has two sons.
Two future chessclub members btw. :incline:

Family can be seen here

A screenshot would suffice.

skyrim, oblivion, fallout 4... ok.

I noticed devs look sickly or fat like players. Maybe its good I stopped grinding games. You know, no job, wake up with coffee at 5 am, computer on, start grinding whatever game, shit/piss whenever but easy access food/soda close at hand in dark room. Play until 3 am... sleep in chair and this time keep computer/or maybe consoles running. Rinse and repeat. Some ads even showed the commander chair with built in toilet and drink dispenser.

Weren't early Nintendo/genesis rpgs mainly JRPGS? I'd like to see a list on that. Many rpgs were piss poor ports from pc if any. I need a detailed list and timeline.

Anyway, the same thing can be found in the tabletop RPG. In US, apart from D&D, there is no salvation. In Europe... there are dozens and dozens of RPGs that come out every year, and they are played a lot in libraries or clubs.

A very simple reason, I think that in Europe, it is easier to take the risk to start a company than in the US. In the worst case, in France or Germany, well, the company goes bankrupt, ok but you're not immediately ruined. In the US, it seems different. The other point is that since we work less, personally at least, I have more time to devote to making a game than an American with these 4 jobs.

Then how come that when I asked you to list good AAA games, the first thing that came to your mind was KCD, a Czech game?

Are you lapsing in your patriotism, American? Is it time to send you to the re-education camps?
Because I knew that you had an inherit bias towards european games and by listing KCD you couldn't deny my answer, also because I know you like KCD.

I recently made a thread about how Arcanum and Morrowind are my favorite games and are still unsurpassed by anything released after.

Yes, Troika and Bethesda are known to be from Slovakia and Luxembourg, respectively, proving my bias towards European developers.

again, I agree that it's hard to deny american superiority even for people that hate america. I don't need any convincing.

you get a lot of free time because jamal takes care of your wife's needs

How much time does it takes you to take care of your wife's needs that you could make a game in that period? You seem to be grossly incompetent in that regard. Do you need some tips?

He's American, he has to laboriously dig through layers of fat folds before he can finally reach her pussy.

And all of that takes place while he tries to unzip his pants. Wife is still taking a shower.

I have a working theory that the reason e*ropeons are so butthurt all the time is inherited emotional trauma from their grandmothers being raped by russians.

Can't wait for rusty to discover where Americans came from
europe before the mongolians ravaged across half of it raping your grandmothers and creating butthurt e*ropeons that would cry endlessly on forums dedicated to american rpgs?

I don't know why but Todd always looks majestic af, he has a good dressing sense as well. Maybe making the same game since 2002 with essentially the same core of people doesn't take its toll on you.

As someone who isn't from any of Earth's continents and is therefore completely impartial, I have to admit that the anti-american attitude of europosters OTC (on the codex) does strongly resemble outbursts of irrational butthurt, although my theory is that these hurt feelings are rooted in bitter generational envy over euros losing their global dominance to ameros post-WWII, rather than mongolians.

This applies even to post-modernist eurotrash who think they couldn't care less about global dominance and affairs of bygone ages. You don't even know what you really care about.
