They also got Steam page:

Under the direction of Ted Peterson and Julian LeFay — lead developers of the team behind the Elder Scrolls Arena and Daggerfall—Once Lost Games is creating a new open-world fantasy RPG where choice, consequence, scope and role-playing will be experienced like never before in a realistically-scaled open world in a new class of game: The Grand RPG.

The Wayward Realms is set on a group of over one hundred, realistically scaled, islands, known collectively as the Archipelago, where scores of factions vie for influence and power. Kingdoms strive to maintain their dominance, upstarts seek to earn a place at the top, and dynasties set generational plots into motion. Should the player earn a position of prominence, they may change the course of history. However, they must first prove their worth battling rivals, mercenaries, monsters, spirits, and demons. On their quest for fame and fortune, players will venture through strange lands, delve into foreboding dungeons, and traverse kingdoms full of humans, elves, orks, dwarves and a few other unusual races.

Welcome To The Archipelago!
  • A Massive World. No, really! Way bigger than most other games you can think of. Big cities with hundreds or thousands of NPCs, deep, dark, dangerous forests, gigantic mountain ranges, sprawling swamps and marshlands, vast oceans, and more, brought to life through dynamic, procedural generation.

  • Constantly Evolving Experience and Story. A virtual Game Master keeps things interesting for you, making other characters and their factions react and plot their next move based on your actions, resulting in no two players having the exact same game experience. World events have very different effects in the life of a socializing aristocrat, a thief entrenched in underworld conspiracies, a scholar collecting ancient artifacts, or whatever role you craft for yourself.

  • Real Role-Playing. You’re not playing some prebaked warrior or mage, but a character class of your design, with customized skills and abilities to craft your own spells, potions, and enchantments. Want to try playing a character who is really, really outside the box? We got you.

  • A World Full of Lore. We call it Wayward Realms for a reason. On the surface, things may have that familiar, medieval fantasy look, but dig a bit deeper and there’s a lot to learn. From the multiple moons in the sky, to the libraries worth of books, to the multiple cultures of each race, there is always something new to discover.

Julian Lefay always has has been an over ambitious person. I personally think they should of stick with a 2.5d artsyle like ion maiden did.

They should have made giant mod for Skyrim, as proof of concept. Or used easy to use Engine, with fast pipelines. Graphics on lvl of HD Oblivion. Focused on lore building, living world mechanics and RPG systems. THEN and only then should have they attempted to make fancy lookin game

BTW: they seem alergic to Kickstarter and are hoping for angel publisher. So far they have received 0 offers from publishers (since debacle with Paradox). I offered them several different ways how to fund full production, they shot down all of them. All of them involved some kind of work. They are marxists (no, really) maybe they hope that future United Socialist States of America (USSA) will make Wayward Realms a govermental project. We'll see

I am going to tell you all with authority this time, they burned their bridges. And VCs are petty shits who talk to one another. These idiots are delusional if they think they can con more VCs out of money. Even the really communist Venture capitalists (yes I know, they don't appreciate the irony when money thinks for them.)

I'll say, with the output of other "industry veterans" I'm surprised there is any presentable material at all.
Even though, it's just a couple 3D models.

I'm really digging the lore they created but yeah, good luck making a triple A game.

The only way I can see them pulling would be by partnering with a willing dev with enough workforce, and realistically what's available at the moment? Some random eastern european dev? Focus Interactive? Any new western group made by former has beens Bioware/Blizzard/Bugthesda devs?

Dont get me wrong, I'm rooting for them but I wanna know how they could pull it off.

A Massive World. No, really! Way bigger than most other games you can think of. Big cities with hundreds or thousands of NPCs, deep, dark, dangerous forests, gigantic mountain ranges, sprawling swamps and marshlands, vast oceans, and more, brought to life through dynamic, procedural generation.

It was looking good until I read that.

Hasn't that literally been the point of this since day 1 considering it's a Daggerfall clone?

The entire purpose of Wayward Realms is to give us the Daggerfall sequel we never got. The intention was always to create something smaller but still massive.

Why do you assume that everyone has been following this since day 1?

You responded to my post like a butthurt fanboy and I'm the defensive one?
How was my post butthurt? Lol. Nothing in my post had even an ounce of ire or asspain in it, I wasn't even one of the people who rated your post retarded.

What's even dumber is that you tried to project that I was being defensive when all I did was ask a legit question.

More like good luck making a game.

It's kinda in the title of the thread:

The Wayward Realms - upcoming Daggerfall-like RPG from original Elder Scrolls developers
So you basically said: "Meh, it's a shame that one of the most important features of Daggerfall is going to make appearance in the game that's supposed to be its spiritual successor".

Or did you not know that Daggerfall was all about procedural generation?
