Tried Rejection: Dennou Shoujo a few days ago. The idea to combine grid-based dungeon crawling with manual aiming is pretty fresh to me, as I've only seen it in Dimensional Fighter Epsilon3.
How did you get this running? I was actually trying to run this yesterday, but kept running into errors, that I only got as far as understanding they were errors.
Did you get stuck at the main menu or smth like that?

IIRC you need to set up a joystick in the input controls and insert a blank diskette into drive 0. Create user disk by selecting the first option in the menu, then select the second to start the game.

Yeah, I was stuck on the menu. I had the joystick part figured out, albeit accidentally. I'm using the Neo Kobe emulator pack, and it seems the joystick there is preconfigured. I thought it was weird the confirmation button was Z. It never occurred to me it needed an emulated floppy. Thanks for the help.

FM Towns games use floppy disks for save data, so if a game refuses to run out of the box or displays errors on start, it's a good idea to start there. Also, user disk formatting and starting a new game is pretty slow (in case of Rejection), so don't panic if it takes a minute or so to get things started.

The confusing feeling when you're garbage at a game but you're somehow carrying the team and stomping the enemy team... :?

I've heard it was a :prosper::dead:when originally released.
Is it worth playing now?

They made two (!!) remasters after the original release, with the newest being available on Steam.

Some people say they're even worse than the original release

Wasn't there four?
Original 1.0, then Collector's Edition, then MMXII and then Steam edition?

Worth playing? Hell no.
Even latest version is far from perfect and new changes (from CE to MMXII) made it worse, game is even easier now.

Gotta appreciate the amount of detail that went into designing this little shop that most players will never enter. Unmarked & no associated quests AFAIK.

Yeah gotta appreciate that.

What I don't appreciate is not giving us the name of the game when posting a beautiful interface-less screenshot that makes it hard to guess what it is unless you've seen it before.

It rhymes with "Twitcher". Hopefully someone feels defiled for liking the picture now.
