Discover the next evolution of action adventures with Dream Cycle, an ever-expanding portal into the unknown brought to you by the creator of Lara Croft, Toby Gard. Trapped in a shattered dimension, you take the role of Morgan Carter, a modern-day arcane apprentice. Defeat the corrupted inhabitants of the Dreamlands to break the curse. Use stealth, traps, spells, and illusions to quietly clear the way or challenge enemies head-on, exploiting their weaknesses with conventional weapons. Only by destroying these soulless opponents can you venture deeper into the Dreamlands, discover the truth of your story, and maybe… just maybe… find a way out.

Infinite Adventure

Dream Cycle is not a static game, but an ever-growing platform for mystery and adventure. Through regular updates, new realms will become available, introducing new biomes, additional story chapters, weapons, enemies, skills, and powers.

Continue to develop and adapt your character as the vast expanses of the Dream Realms open up over time.

A Massive Computer-Generated Sandbox

Explore and plot your own path through the Dreamlands, following story leads and gathering new powers as you enter the Deep Gate and traverse each of the 10,000 adventures within each map tile. Every time you cross the threshold, you will land in a unique sandbox which you can freely traverse by climbing, teleporting, or even flying. Approach your objectives any way you want and restore the world to balance.

Define Your Playstyle

Whether you want to master the sword in hand-to-hand combat, perfect your aim in dynamic first-person gunplay, or cast fire down on your foes with powerful magic, there are ways to build your character around each strength. With eight spell slots available at all times and a highly flexible perk system, you can become the occultist adventurer you want to be.

Immersive Atmosphere

Enveloping your journey through the Dreamlands is an original soundtrack written by the original Tomb Raider composer, Nathan McCree. Dream Cycle is also professionally voiced, bringing the story and your adventure to life.

The trailer and description makes it sound kinda immersive sim-y

This guy has worked on one decent game (Tomb Raider - 1996). And mostly the art side of things. Since then all decline, as is the standard for video game developers.

The concept and footage it just seems like any other modern game: immersive sim-lite. RPG-lite. Action adventure-lite. Mediocre art. All blended together in a melting pot of shit in an attempt to appeal to all and excelling at nothing.

Pass.

Sounds like skeleton of a game with shitloads of microtransactions at best, a de facto "games as a service" subscription at worst.

Looks like an extremely generic action-adventure...with a lower budget.

They should do Galleon HD instead

Going from Big titted feisty British adventurer to a flat-chested, annoying, Chinky snob. Good job, Toby.

I can't tell what I'm even looking at. Just a mix of gameplay styles and ideas without any one true focus. Bloodborne dodge combat, Dishonoured blink powers to cover for none existent platforming, weak point focused sneak attacks and Skyrim hacking and slashing when all else fails.

For some reason this feels like an early PS3/X360 title. Cutscenes every 30 seconds, simplified controls but some big ideas, and actually trying to make a game. Not optimistic, but it could be interesting.

Even the visuals are confused: that inconsistent outline effect feels like something that was plastered on top as a way to obscure the game's visual deficiencies. It doesn't make the game look better or appear stylized, it just feels extremely out of place.
I guess the architecture in the hub area (?) , with those huge, imposing archways, tries to evoke the sense of scale from old Tomb Raiders so perhaps that's closest to a positive, but it all looks so bland and unimaginative.

Holy crap, someone else knows about the existence of this game. Happened upon it in a sale bin at the local video game store years ago and ended up enjoying it a great deal.
