Getting a constant influx of elemental bolts isn't hard at all once you get to Junkyard.

Depends on coins, and coins depends on if you steal or not.
Withous stealing things even after Depot A I was bunkrupt constantly, crossbow ironman build.
Just do Abraham's quests, it's doable even without stealth.

But I did. Without stealing you are constant bunkrupt. At point where my @ died I went to Foundty, and had less then 30 coins -or less, but luckily got 250 for Evelyn.

You save a lot of money if you craft while having the info site open.

If you don't steal, you are bunkrupt on Domi.
My crossbower died from alfa rathounds at 14 lvl - cause I though - hoped like every piss poor - that what I have - riot gear I looted in underpassage - is enough, cause I caoudn't afford new, real riot gear of at least decent quality. So bunch of alfas munched my @ near Foundry.
I'll never ever will play with no stealing-ironman.

And that's with free loot from encounter at Rail Crossing, where I shot bunch of lurkers from across the platform, without risk.

Well let me ask then whether you invest in mercantile and crafting skills. If you are then I have no idea why are you struggling: you can do lots of stuff, sell only crafted gear (not the components), craft and use only what's necessary. You can also do Black Eels branch and loot all the bodies after the skirmish. And after Depot A there's so much places where you can get free loot that I don't even know. Just search for it and craft/sell. While I did advocate for pickpocketing usefulness I myuself actually have never had it more than 50 and at least 3 runs on DOM w/o it at all. Just learn to make coins, mostly it comes from crafting if needed (and xbow don't seem to be an expensive way to play to me).

It's that you never played no steal run and don't have idea how tight are the money...
And don't seems to understand that ironman plays differently than none-ironman.

You can't go head on vs alpha rathounds even at lvl 10-12. Most encounter on domination need you to be juiced and loaded with best gear if you dont want to endlessly savescum shit or use shitton of traps.

Ive played no steal domination and finished it, but the early game is very tight on money. You need good budgeting early on with priorities like molotovs, traps, flashbangs etc. Late game -i savescum supersteel because i dont like grinding money, and you should have super steel armor before expedition -you can order new set of super steel then after you secure good deal for jet ski.

abram pays big bux, dom money troubles always end there

pickpocketing is still sweet and gets you near the charonbux you comfortably have on lesser difficulties

How the hell are you losing against rathounds that late in the game?

cause I though - hoped like every piss poor - that what I have - riot gear I looted in underpassage - is enough, cause I caoudn't afford new

Turned out 1 turn is enough to deal outstanding damage, I had 10 Con. I underestimate them, and overestimate my gear, explained why.
I could avoid that with better tactics, or better riot gear. 14 lvl, crit power, hm...

dom money troubles always end there

no.
Ironman requre more coins - for example, you need root soda in GMS to ensure you will act first in figth with 2 raders.
And there is lot of such mandatory things, if you want to ensure your survival, not to luck it out.

Upgrade your stuff in tiers. I upgrade my stuff with components when i hit 80 skills in crafting, then at circa 120 and then at 160. This way you will not lose that much money if you constantly try to upgrade. Make sure to always go for best components you can craft atm and then stick with the gun/armor till you get substantially better deal, like 40 skill difference.

I don't try to upgrade constantly - only on the need to do basis.
And I coudn't even do that, as I showed earlier, I need to cut the corners.
Good arrows cost coins, and a lot of them. You could use mk1 shock - or mk3 that will ensure you will win the fight. Choice is yours - to save a few coins, or ensure you will win. But those few coins will add up.
I had 7 Per, so I was need Monsoon crossbow with sight to have so much needed 13% thc for example.
Also Cyclon.

Crossbowmen are generally quite expensive, much more than gunners when we count crafting W2C ammo. It's a shame that dissasembly perk doesn't let you yield microshock components and other primary crafting stuff for your AMMO needs. I think styg could fix that, and the perk itself would be actually worth it then. Like one basic EMP mine dissasembled = thee microshock dischargers or something like that.

I don't think DOM requires pickpocketing, even if it is nice to have. It does need Mercantile though (which Hard doesn't). Maybe pickpocketing depends on the build. Some cheap builds like fist or psi don't need it. But now I am playing chemical pistols which are expensive, I have all crafting/mercantile/pickpocketing, and I am still always low on money (having bought the Devastator and some super steel, though).

Do you take the money (and the tacvest and the shield) from the Junkyard casino?

Why do people complain about backtracking in this game? It always baffled me.

It was too slow back when you could not speed up the game. Now I find it nice, it gives me a breather between all the fighting. For me one of the biggest problems in DC is that there is nothing to break the pace there. The dlc does not have this problem, as you can go back to the cities any time.

Like when I had to clear the West Wing I got rid of all the muties but there was another room with lunatics, didn't feel ready to face yet another room full of enemies having a clear sight of me

That's Utility Station 7, the West Wing is the one with all the Death Stalkers.

To be fair, I haven't played DOM a single time without a trader refresh. I like the combat difficulty and large number of enemies but the price reduction is bollocks and I have no desire to spend hours on doing trader runs for a meager change

I played no stealing ironman. Then I found DLC doesn't increase attributes per level, and moded strength to be able to use that hammer without min maxing.

Max level is bullshit especially for skill points.

Why do people complain about backtracking in this game? It always baffled me. It's not like in most annoying games where backtracking results just in a waste of time and you end up doing nothing.
I always saw backtracking in UD as some sort of reconnaissance before going balls deep in a situation. Like when I had to clear the West Wing I got rid of all the muties but there was another room with lunatics, didn't feel ready to face yet another room full of enemies having a clear sight of me, so I went back to shop for more traps, get better equipment... Hell, I think I came back to clear that room a level or two later in the game. As for backtracking in travel and exploration before drinking the juice. Well I mean, the exploration was always a big part of this game, it was so good in fact, that the movement speed never bothered.

Look through the patch notes a bit and see how many changes were made to speed up backtracking, you'll understand where the complaints were coming from.

But if leaving a dungeon to go restock is fine for you that means you have a very high tolerance for busywork and backtracking.

Eh, no - I coudn't manage to develop failsafe tactic for its robbery, so I avoided it, cause I failed there couple of times already.
You could get caught while entering guard room - someove could come from north, if you not in stealth, or if you ARE - you could just not steal money in time before guard returns, so you could stumble at him at doorframe.

Fenix, here is how I do it, it is safe. It needs some money to do, but it is a good investment because you get much more at the end. I save all my money in the beginning to pull this off.
Buy 6 grenades from SGS, then buy 6 burrower caltrops in Junkyard (3 from Kendrick and 3 from Fixer).
Go to the gambling house, pay the admission price, open the door.
Do not enter, move to the eastern side of the map. Throw caltrops next to the tank, then throw a grenade beyond the caltrops to "invite" the guards.
Repeat until the guard in the surveillance room is dead. If 6 repetitions don't cut it (it is borderline), you will have to wait until the merchants restock burrower caltrops to continue. Someone sells grenades too (Gort iirc?).
Once the surveillance guard is dead (loot him!), the goal is to loot the money from his footlocker.
Get in the gambling house, close the door to isolate the external camera. There is one guard walking around the corridor, wait until he disappears. Go stealth and enter the surveillance room. Loot the footlocker, exit the room in stealth (or quickly, if you have no stealth), so that the wandering guard doesn't see what you did.
Other than the great riches of the footlocker, the surveillance guard has an energy shield and a random tacvest. My goal is to have a tacvest with DT7 (or 6 at least) in the beginning. If his tacvest is worse, I then go and have the GMS guard killed by the rathounds for his.

grumf, that's good info!
I am assuming that the murder of Pierce (one of the Quicksilver quests) has already taken place? Or does that get messed up?

Wait. Won't doing that early result in you not being able to continue
The Occulites questline
?
AFAIK, this quest doesn't require you to interact with Mordre whatsoever. You just need to pinpoint him as a perp

Well then that means that you can't have what grumf said early on, because how can you pinpoint the perp if Mordre is dead?

You can also kill Mordre with a single gas grenade for an early shield, sniper rifle & SMG.

I don't even know if you become hostile to SGS if you do it early on.

Some bugs:

I’m been attacked by SGS members after killing Mordre in the caves. The area is an uncontrolled zone in the middle of nowhere. This is ruining my playthrough.

Killed everyone in prison at the Foundry. Left. Come back to take more stuff from the dead bodies. Some guards ask me to leave. As soon as I leave, everyone is attacking me.

Here, granted it's been posted in 2016 and Styg could've changed this since then. But I still think killing Mordre early on could only lead to misery.
