Let me put it this way. There is no such thing as a forum without free speech. It does not matter what specialized wrapping you use, whether its cooking, painting or RPGs a forum cannot function as a forum without free speech. Remove that and all you end with is a private unemployment agency for the mods that keep the "forum clean". RPGs do not exist in some parallel dimension separate from the rest of existence so the idea that outside topics should not or cannot seep into discussions about them is straight up retarded. They always will and there is nothing that can done about that other than to accept that as a fact of life. Try to somehow regulate that and you will spent more time banning than discussing or reading anything.

The only reason why some sites like ResetEra or reddit can do this is because they have a semi monopoly and are propped up by external cash flows. So unless codex has some very rich and retarded investors lined up, trying to go the "we are only RPG Discussion website" is a sure fire way into irrelevancy. Or is anyone here under the delusion that someone is going to funnel donations towards a site that would just ban at the drop of a hat for going "off topic"? If anyone wanted that we would all be on reddit or resetera. So pull your head out of the gutter.

How about you make the n-word filter funny? Instead of African American, it could be something silly like Nigerian prince or Bill Cosby. And it should be updated every week or so, to keep things fresh.

Maybe have people vote on what the next thing the filter will replace the n-word with is going to be. Use it to pay homage to fellow codexers who excel at shit posting.

Let's look at something on topic for this thread.

In case this would be no free speech RPG only discussions, there would be another BIG can of worms.

Strategy games and RPGs are typically based on stories between different species, each with different birth rates, and different lifetimes. And fast breeders can easily replenish loses from war, thus they are typically more aggressive. Both from ability to replenish dead from war, and from population pressure that hints they should EXPAND at cost of theirs neighbors.

On one side there are elves, which are eternally young, have low birth rates, and strong birth rate control. On the other you can see orks and other relatively fast breeding species.
A fast breeding species either gets money from raiding theirs neighbors, or simply expands into theirs neighbors.

You can see quick problems this could cause in hypocritic societies of current Europe and US, and how a sensible discourse about differences between different species would end in arguments worse than arguments about Hitler. Or Nazi. Or about a keeping a black person near car exhaust until the black person who overdosed on pain killers dies. The culprit was of course a hot exhaust because sitting on a neck is normal behavior. But they have solution, electric cars doesn't have hot CO gas exhaust, thus they are safe. Forcing everyone to use electric cars would solve the whole problem of policemen not using brain. Poor would pay additional running costs of electric cars.

So what RPG discussion would be as controversial as the above paragraph?
It's simple. Some genetics are rapidly mutating, thus they need continual corrections by warfare, and by breeding more than 2 children per family. Now of course forcing that species to have birth control the same as different species would genetically degrade that species. ...

I was actually thinking about a possible RPG (I call the concept "Niggaz" but of course it could change) that would be set in a US ghetto. The player would sell crack on the street, shoot competing dealers and engage in rap battle minigame. There is a lot of untapped potential in this area tbh fam.

Why? When you can simply create a game where a person can survive living near: 1 Roma fellow citizens. 2. Vietnamese fellow citizens. 3. Ukáčka. And you can have all these police actions against you after they falsely accused you of racism.

That would be probably too sad game. Thus it's not great game material.



Frankly why do you need to mimic some book description of a ghetto? If you are living in Prague, there is so much cocaine use, it's noticeable even in Prague sewers.
