Larian cultists keep saying to me "Stop posting" , I stop, they bring me back to discussion and bring me back and bring me back...

OS2 which seems to have sold more than five million on steam allone and is moving towards that ten million mark if you add together sales on all platforms is a bit laughable

So what? Game journos and normies like DOS2. We get it. All that Larian cultists have to defend it is "muh game journalists", "muh normies". So what? Justin Bieber sells way more than classic music. Mc Donalds sells more than gourmet food, I guess that Fast Food is superior to other forms of food in quality. A game with lv 4 archdruids and barrelmancy to a low level party kill a adult red dragon dealing fire damage is not a good game.

If is profits alone, Candy Crash and CoD are the best games. "But they aren't competing in RPG market", so what. DOS2 is appealing to a normie market. OwlCat to a "grognard" market.

He's only saying that it's laughable to think Larian is running out of money. Your response is a total non sequitur.

hello fellow baldurs gate enjoyers. what do you argue about

ah, I see you are trying to measure if game is an RPG if it sold many copies, between two larian games and one text quest with isometric backgrounds.
"muh game sold more than ur game hurr"

well do go on then.

as for DOS 3 I see it's drow porn lesbian game now. which is ok? dragon age was similar, although larians would be pure cringe in comparison, i guess.

He's only saying that it's laughable to think Larian is running out of money. Your

A studio with 20 employees in Russia needs to sell way less copies to make a profit than a AAA studio with over 300 employees all in high cost of living countries. I"m not saying that Larian will ran out of money. Only that is easier to Larian to run out of money than a smaller company. In fact, Larian will grow up even more in the next years. But this doesn't change the fact that a game which costs X and returns 10X is more profitable than a game who costs 20X and returns 23X even if the second game sold more.

But my point is simple. Why people confuse quality with sales in RPGs?
  • Nobody says that a popular car is better than a Lamborghini because it sells more
  • Nobody says that fast food is the best food cuz it sells more
  • Nobody says that a cheap whore who has more clients than a luxury is better
  • Nobody says that pop music is better than all other genres due popularity
  • (...)
But with video games"game journos likes, and sells, so is good", Dragon Age Inquisition sold more than DA:O. Diablo 3 sold more than DOS2.

Lastly, Larian cultists keeps bringing me back to this discussion. As I"ve said to underground nymph. I'm not having more fun criticizing BG3, so I will only do it if someone brings me back to the discussion. I already said everything that I have to say multiple times about how awful a game with lv 4 archdruids, low lethality + slow animation combat, epic low level adventure, barrelmancy(...) and I don't wanna to discuss BG3 again. Please. Stop mentioning me in this thread and bringing me back to this discussion. I wanna talk about OwlCat games, Knights of the Chalice 2 and other good CRPGs. I'm having a lot of fun playing Kingmaker on Unfair and purchased truvelo 20mm on warface and convinced a friend of mine to go back to BF1. I have a lot of great games to play and talk about.

Please. Go enjoy your tentacle motion captured sex with Astarion and don't bring me back to this topic. If you really wanna me here, then please. Instead of "muh game journos", "muh normies", "muh sales", please. Mention to me a single aspect which DOS2 clone : Faerun edition is superior to ToEE. Temple of elemental evil is a low level TB RPG but is hundreds of times better than this game.

BG3 is going to be the most successful cRPG ever created and there's nothing you can do about it
I mean duh, does not make it a good RPG universally for everyone. Skyrim sold well too you know and oblivion :^). It will outsell owlcats for sure. Also, it will be released at 22? Right? It's supposed to be a rather empty year in terms of rpgs.

surely its impossible to outdo masterpieces like fallout 3 and fallout 4.

you'd need some modding and base building first.

Is Swen's superiority causing some butthurt?

I have absolute trust in Swen and in Larian to outdo everyone in terms of cringe on the market. They will put everyone to shame including my favorte trash fanfiction writers from Owlcat.

Larian has a specific kind of autistic retard style writing based around most gross and unwanted parts of any rpg narrative, and they have the money to fully voice act, and animate, it all. BG3 would produce cringe memes for years and topple Bethesda and Bioware.

The popularity would amplify these processes, and just like devs tried to emulated Larian by shoving full vo everywhere; it would hurt generations of RPGs for years to come.

Huh? Read again I agree with you that it will be a success. Same as Skyrim, it's a shitty game but succeseful. If you read YOUR statement again there are 0 words about it being good or deep etc.
Also, it will set ripples in CRPG meta for good or for the worse ( Probably worse as Shadenuat highlighted, tho systemwise and CNC it's kinda inclined).

How many millions of dollars are they burning per month with three studios in three countries? How many copies have they already sold?

Those studios might as well be on outsource duty making models and content for others like EA games and whatnot. It's quite common.

Question to people playing the EA. Can we completely respec companions and customize their looks like in Original Sin 2?
Sure hope not. 'respeccing' is the embodiment of decline.

It's declined when it abused, but being able to totally change the class of every companion you get is something I appreciate.
Nope, it's shit. One of the few things deadfiya got right was being able to choose from thematically fitting classes when recruiting a companion.
A companion's class is part of their overall character.

Half of them wouldn't even make sense if their classes were able to be changed due to their stories being so closely linked to their class.

But that way you can create your custom party and still be able to get companion quests. It's the best of both worlds. Who cares if it doesn't make sense? Look at what people are already doing in WOTR. Does Seelah suddenly deciding to become a Skald after being a Paladin for one whole level makes sense? Does Regil deciding to become a Bloodrager out of sudden makes sense? Do multiple people of various backgrounds suddenly deciding to get a little bit of monastic training in order to master mysterious crane style make any sense? If you worry about it you can just choose to not respec them.

Okay guise, Im ready to experience another early access, buggy, half finished, LGBT propaganda riddled game written by furry loving fanfiction writers that are so horny that they can barely hold themselves from fapping while typing and where the game designers dont have a clue of what they are doing half the time and that is only relevant because of nostalgia bait and cRPG fans being such beggars, now that I'm done with WotR. Did Swen gave us the cart with the garbage crafting supplies he promised so we can build our cardboard huts on the park?

Ok, then when Swen will show us other companions? Because right now there is lewd handholding with Shadowheart and... that's all. There is also gay vampire. Others are so bland no one even remember their names even despite there is almost no content in the game. Noseless chick, some dude and some other dude.

With companion repsec like in OS2 you could at least give them a giant afro.
