Could be the graphic card running the game at 500000000000 fps, put up a fps limiter or force the vsync in your graphic panel app

Moreover, I tried 3.0.4 (from both https://terra-arcanum.com/downloads/ and from https://co8.org/community/threads/original-co8-3-0-4-patch.1202/#post-6620, not sure if they functionally differ, probably not) and it crashes on startup with temple+ (tried about 10 different temple+ versions). Clean ToEE and Temple+ install.

Not sure why this is happening. I just applied 3.0.4 (from Terra Arcanum) on top of GoG and it worked fine. What base ToEE version are you using?
Just a GOG install. I used both the newest GOG installer, but also some older ones just to be sure.
Either way, the crashes seem to be temple.dll related. If I substitute the 3.0.4 temple.dll with the original Moebius temple.dll that comes with the GOG install, temple+ works fine. Moreover the 3.0.4 temple.dlls from terra-arcanum and from co8.org are not identical and are distinct. So I've got 3 temple.dlls with the original working fine.

Edit: Although, now that I think about it, comparing dlls by checksums is probably not the way to go about it.

Ok, I goofed up earlier when installing 3.0.4 (installed a sub-folder in the ToEE main). Now I see the crash.
It looks like 3.0.4 is based on an earlier Moebius patch, and the GoG DLL is actually closer to Co8 4.0. So I think Co8 4.0 should work, but that includes Livonya's modifications IIRC (I think they're mostly excellent but certainly it's new content right there).
I'll look into supporting 3.0.4 as well.
Sorry if I'm bothering, but what is the status on temple+ compatibility with 3.0.4? I tried the latest build and I'm no longer getting crashes at the startup. Is it compatible then? Didn't try the rest of the game.

Hi everyone, I wonder if you could help me with adding feats through the console. I tried this:
game.party[4].feat_add(20345)
to add two-weapon fighting to the character at the 5th (4th counting from zero) position in the party member portrait row.
The console returns a "1" after I hit enter, but the feat isn't there in the feats list.

Also, is it true that you can't easily remove feats? I want to add the above and remove Toughness. The 3 HP are inconsequential in the grand scheme of things, but it'd be neat if I could get rid of it anyway.

Oh sorry I must have forgotten to reply to this. I don’t remember what it was exactly but I suppose I found the incompatibility that caused the crash and fixed it. Unfortunately I don't remember if there was anything else to do...

Try using the Dungeon Master - activate it and edit a char by right clicking on it.
Removing feat isn't supported. You could maybe do it using lower level commands, but that's probably not a good idea...

Thank you very much, that worked. I didn't know the DM tool could do that. I'll just leave the Toughness in then. It doesn't do much anyways.

Whenever I load up ToEE with Temple+ my PC starts screeching. I think it's coil whine but I'm not certain. It's like a high-pitched squealing. It doesn't happen with any other games, or even unmodded ToEE.

It's a rather high-end PC, I tried some new shit like Cyberpunk on ultra and it was fine, but for some reason it complains loudly when I boot up Temple+.

Are there any graphical settings and such that anyone knows of that could be causing this?
I had this problem with an older GFX card years ago. It's a condensator. Happens only with certain games. Did limiting FPS help?

I came back checking on the Temple+ development and I see version 0.85 is being worked on, with a considerable change-log addressing many issues.

I just wanted to thank Sitra Achara and his collaborators for still doing a great job on this after many years.

Currently I'm working on an automated playtester to help diagnose stability issues. Got it to play the tutorial dungeon in a loop, so far.

Currently I'm working on an automated playtester to help diagnose stability issues. Got it to play the tutorial dungeon in a loop, so far.
Update on that:
Finally got myself a laptop a few weeks ago, which really helped me get back on track.

The tutorial playtesting didn't yield much - I suppose that's a good thing? - so I started overhauling it from the ground up it to play the game itself.

Currently it's running the Temple tower brigand fight + worldmap random encounters in a loop. This has already caught two crashes in a few days worth of testing! One was a kinda rare edge case, the other I'm still looking into.

New version is out!

Long in the making, v1.0.86 & its baby brother v1.0.87 bring forth a slew of quality fixes, including several sporadic crash issues that finally got smacked thanks to the new automated playtesting system.

Some highlights:
* Party banter is finally fixed!
ToEE always had party banter of sorts - nothing really major, just flavor comments on some landmarks. Sadly even that was just broken at the engine level: you could enable it, but the option would reset itself when you loaded a save, and even then you'd almost never get to hear the NPC voiced comments (it would virtually always pick your PCs to comment instead, i.e. generic voiceless comments).

Almost twenty years later, it is finally fixed! Don't expect anything on par with Planescape or anything like that, but it's a nice touch.
To enable, go to the ingame options menu -> preferences -> tick Party Banter (voice)

* Control NPCs in combat!

* New house rule options, including: NPC stat boost - for extra difficulty; Party dialogue skillchecks - because sozzy?

* Tons of new (optional) content by fellow modders doug, Sagenlicht, Pygmy and dolio: 40+ new spells, 3 new prestige classes (Abjurant Champion, Stormlord, Ultimate Magus), 7 new feats, and 4 new craftable item enchantments. As usual enable with Non-Core Materials option.

* If you can't beat em, join em - you too can now play as a Bugbear! (enabled via Monstrous Races option, of course)

Anybody seen this? My crafter is unable to make any wondrous items whatsoever. The XP requirement is always red, as though unfulfilled, even though the character in question has thousands of XP to spare.

Figured I should repost this here instead of the main TOEE thread, since it could be something caused by Temple+
Oops! Will issue hotfix...

Crashing every time I try to load into the ruined tower (the second entrance to the temple, where you fight the witches and various other things). Known bug or am I the lucky first?
Couldn't reproduce. Can you send a save + log file?
Where do I submit these? GOG version with Co8.

Duh, it lists the email in the crash message, sorry. Sent the files.
Got it, thanks. Issued another hotfix, v1.0.89 :)

Sitra I wanted to ask about some spells,more specifically Enervation and Energy Drain. Were you guys finally able to get them working properly? How was the level drain implemented? Will it drain enemies of their HD(and they lose spells,saving throws and so on)?
Also,do most of Sagenlicht's spells work properly? I remember he did some stuff like Righteous Fury and many other spells from the Spell Compendium.

AFAIR enerv & e. drain work as intended. Not 100% about spells though.

Sagenlicht's spells qent through a beta phase so most should be alright. Of course it's possible some things slipped by...

I see the 1.0.89 version is out(or at least my Temple+ auto updated itself). There are some spells(from Spell Compendium) that have full descriptions in the help interface(as per PnP),but are not actually implemented yet. Are they buggy?
