Let's be honest, the competition wasn't stiff to begin with, but still great news nonetheless. Between Euro Truck Simulator, Amanita games and KCD, it's an easy pick.

KCD may have sold 4 million copies but Euro Truck Sim is at like 10mil, Beat Saber is the bestselling VR game ever, Arma 3 and DayZ had giant communities, Mafia remake was successful recently, Factorio also did millions..

Czech gamedev is impressive actually. Of course, KCD is of greatest interest to me since it is an RPG so for me it wins by default, but it's not the most mainstream and yet it won, so that's nice.

We need part II already. It's almost 4 years since they released part I. Selling 4m is good considering that all the SJW retards hated Vavra with passion and tried to sabotage the game sales.

The longer they make the next installment, the better it will be, so you must wait. I'm getting tired of rushed games.

In p. much all genres except RPGs. In a country where 95% of all gaymers started as PC master race in the 1990s and RPGs were super popular there aren't many notable Czech RPGs. In fact, KCD may be the only one.

Also Complete Edition for 12 bugs. Get it everyone.

You also have the Inquisitor guys (not the Warhammer game), but they switched to more casual games.

Many have asked, what would be price of new Arcanum? And where it could be made? Answer is: 100k$ and ONLY in Balkans or Eastern Europe

Czech Republic and Poland are already streching it. Kingdom Come wouldn't be possible with twice the budget it had anywhere else in West. Your price of living is just INSANE. Not even factoring the cancel culture

P.S. With 700-800€ salary you live comfy and safe life in Balkans. Our cocain and hookers are also cheap af

czech rpgs:

Knights of the Grail
Asmodeus
Curse of Eriden
Gates of Skeldal
Necromania
Cardhalia
Inquisitor
Numen
Fallout: Resurrection
The Keep
Dex
7 Mages
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Hobo: Tough Life

Not bad, tbh.

I had a blast with Skeldal, 7 Mages or Hobo but let's be honest, the only Czech RPG with any renown is KCD.

Compared to names like Operation Flashpoint, Hidden and Dangerous, Arma, Euro Truck Simulator, Mafia, Factorio, Beat Saber, DayZ or Space Engineers knedlik RPGs are super niche. It's weird bc I've always thought this and Potatoland are the Eastern Yuro Meccas of RPGs.

Kingdom Come Sequel is getting NFTs, including one that lets you become an in-game ‘metacuman’

Kingdom Come 2 is one of the bigger releases of the near future, and for better or worse, it’s going to feature one of the biggest tech trends going into next year: non-fungible tokens (or NFTs).

Warhorse, which is developing the game, has announced the “Bohemia Metaverse,” which will “use blockchain technology to let the community own a piece of Kingdom Come 2”. That includes the opportunity to become the “first-ever metacuman,” which Warhorse appears to define as a non-player character rendered in very high detail. (Though a spokesperson confirmed a metacuman won’t be made with Crytek’s Character tool). Warhorse is partnering with NFT platform DMarket on the new items.

To become a “metacuman,” players will be able to bid for an NFT offering that prize as part of an auction. Whoever “owns” the NFT to become an NPC in the game will be able to buy and sell it up until a specific claim date after the auction. For whoever does end up with the NFT, here’s how the process of becoming an NPC in the game will work, Warhorse founder Dan Vavra told me in an emailed statement:

The idea of the related NFT is to give the right to recreate its owner’s identity within the game through one of the NPCs. The person will need to fly to our studio in Czechia for a detailed scanning procedure and after that, we will have everything to make this person appear in the game world as one of the characters.

(You can get a brief look at how Warhorse Studio scans people into the game in this video.)

Warhorse also plans to release other NFTs in addition to the metacuman one, though the company declined to specify what they might be when we asked. Its NFT drops “won’t influence the gameplay itself or give in-game advantages over other players,” according to a press release.

Despite trepidation from many about NFTs (including Keanu Reeves), game makers are beginning to explore the concept in earnest. The announcement of Kingdom Come NFTs arrives just over a week after the widely panned news that STALKER 2 would be featuring NFT characters, and Ubisoft's NFT gear in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. And Peter Molyneux, known for his work on games like Populous, Black And White, and Fable, is making a business simulator where players buy an NFT and try to earn a new digital currency called LegacyCoin.
