If you think that gladiator nigger character who regularly spits in the mouth of Legatus and other high ranking Roman military leaders and they swallow it, with no option to discipline yesterday's slave, female sassy soldiers, and tranny Julius (pardon, Julia) Motherfucking Caesar, and all of that just in Demo, are not there as ideological tributes to the Woke mob, ordered by THQ Nordic, who have been caught in signing pledge to Wokism on paper, I have 1 000 000 doctors and nuclear scientists from Somalia for you. Take them up the ass or be Rrracist

The fact that there is almost none on Codex and even less so on Steam forums, rebellion that supposedly historically accurate Devs, have changed gender of one of the most famous generals and statesmen in Western History, namely Julius Caesar, shows how much we have been conditioned to accept Woke narrative as new normal. We deserve to die out

You meet Julius Caesar literally 10 seconds into the game.

What might be a more "questionable" writing decision is the fact that the player character is supposed to take the place of various historical Roman figures, including Caesar, and that's why
they kill off Caesar 1-2 missions into the game. I get the reasoning behind it, but still

PS. The gladiator character is actually portrayed as kinda dumb in the game, and the other "proper Roman" NPCs even comment on this a couple of times.

Ok. Will believe it when I see Julius Caesar's hard cock drawing battle-plans in his tent, erect from the mere thought of expanding the borders of Roman Empire

Ok. I might be wrong, and I'm hungry. I skipped breakfast. I voted for Expeditions:ROME as one of my most expected RPGs in 2022.

Now that was a nice thick slice of a demo they offered up there (finished it at 3-4 hours), and the fact that they're going to allow for saves to transfer to the full game is a really good move.

Had a fun time with the demo. The rail-roady nature of it seems to be more of a symptom of it kind of being an extended tutorial, but I guess we'll see how it plays out. But just like all the games before it, I have a feeling we'll be able to move more freely throughout the world. On that note, it seems like they've brought back a bit more of the spirit of exploration found in Conquistador with the world map/strategy mechanics, and coupled it with the more focused RPG elements of Viking. If it continues this way and they end up balancing the two nicely, it's going to achieve what I feel both of their prior games should have been able to do much more elegantly.

Combat is fun and seems to have a bit more variety to play around with than the prior installments offered. Viking was on the right track with this, but I can already see them taking it a step further in the early stages of Rome. I do believe that the game might be missing out on another layer of complexity by having ditched the attributes system, but more so in terms of exploration and role-playing, rather than combat. But again, if they're able to strike more of a balance between all the elements they've always wanted to include in the series - but in a more natural way - then I can see where sacrificing a certain amount of that complexity could serve to create a more cohesive experience.

The demo sold me on it and I've decided to buy the game tonight. I had planned to already because I've enjoyed both of the other games in the series a lot, but now I'm properly excited and very much so looking forward to play it in a little over a week. Time to polish off Archolos to clear up the time!

Apparently they've listened to the criticism regarding the time limit in Expeditions: Viking.

The gladiator's companion quest consists of him getting taught discipline by the mentor, so he went from dumb bloodthirsty meathead to pseudo philosophical meathead. Actually a better character than the two female companions so far, Julia just wants to fuck off Rome, nothing more, while the slave gladiator girl's arc so far only revolves around Punisher-style revenge, both of them are pretty one dimensional. All the shit talking are reserved for Cleopatra and Pletomy, this game definitely doesn't like Egyptians.

Why no longer Logic Artists post on Codex? They used to. I'd make us all a good, strong breakfast

What I have noticed devs only post here to build hype, but close to release and/or after they stop. Sometimes they come back for the sequel. It's a real shame, but I guess most of them are cucked and only want to post on Resetera for protection. We have some good ones that stick around that can take criticism and throw around banter themself but it's rare.

The vast majority of people who do creative work can't take any kind of criticism, its not only "SJW cucks", and those who stick around here for the abuse do so because their games have such a small niche market products that the codex actually represents a respectable segment of their playerbase, most of everyone else doesn't need to stick around for the insults.

True. What I find interesting is that the more Devs surround themselves with Discord trannies, Twitter socialists, Steam forums normies and Reddit shitlibs, the more their games turn to shit. I'm not exaggerating, I could give dozens examples

Let's start with Obsidian. What's good game Obsidian made since they stopped posting here?

Whalenought Studios - Mechajammer is so bad, calling it shit would be compliment. Steam reviews are bellow 50%, they are RIP

Obsidian - makes painfully mediocre Outer Worlds. So mediocre, it is bad. And Tim Cain designed this. Tim Motherfucking Cain. Triangles are future, yeah sure

Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones - they just stopped posting and vanished for 2 years. When they came back, game was broken. Sold terribly, now they program smart tosters for living

The List Goes On...

Codex gives excellent game design, story, art direction, marketing and business advice when it comes to making RPGs. Laugh as much as you want, it's true. Devs who see that have advantage over others who are scared to come here. Steam forums and Discord trannies don't know what makes good game design and give terrible advice to Devs. They tell them to remove weight limit for example and then complain how game is too easy. YouDon'tSay.jpg. Most dumbing down in last 5 years is due to 1)Discord trannies 2)Steam forums

Good riddance on them I guess. If they only want sycophants they can keep it to Resetera.
