It's crazy how much they downgraded the physics going from H1 to H3. After seeing this, it makes me glad I'm not even playing it lol

But "muh raytracing and lighting" an average gamer would say. Well, if it's at the detriment of physics, then fuck it.

Those are some pretty damning downgrades optimisations, the sort of tweaks you'd expect for the baseline last gen consoles, not the upgraded engine used two level packs sequels down the line. Just sad.

That’s true. They could easily reimplement this stuff on PS5, XSX and PC
I'm even starting to feel the high seas calling me back for this one... haven't done that since 2007 when i left uni and got a job.
Problem is IO deliberately make the game suck ass if you’re not connected to the servers. Unless you get the Peacock mod, but I’m not sure the people who make that mod would let you have it unless you give proof of purchase or whatever

Our HITMAN 3 launch on Steam didn’t go as planned. We were excited to bring HITMAN 3 to Steam with new content and we knew that anticipation and excitement levels amongst our Steam players was high, especially as the game had been an Epic exclusive for a year.

Ultimately, we didn’t meet our own expectations of a launch experience and we don’t like that our Steam community is beginning their HITMAN 3 journey in this way.

So, here’s what we’re going to do: Everyone on Steam who has already bought HITMAN 3, or anyone that buys the game through to February 19th 2022, will be granted a free upgrade.

-> All HITMAN 3 Standard Edition owners will get a free upgrade to the HITMAN 3 Deluxe Edition.

-> All HITMAN 3 Deluxe Edition or HITMAN Trilogy owners will get a free upgrade to the Seven Deadly Sins Collection.
Starting on January 27th 2022, this process will begin to automatically roll out via Steam entitlements. Simply launch your Steam copy of HITMAN 3 and the new content from your free upgrade will be waiting for you to enjoy.

Still waiting for sales.
Me too. I knew that post was bullshit the moment I read "anyone that buys the game through to February 19th 2022" That's the end of one month window after release in which you can't discount the game, according to Steam TOS. They're just baiting people to pay full price at this point.

The funniest thing is that people who bought standard and deluxe editions get free upgrade. Meanwhile, people who bought everything at full price get jack shit. :smug:

LMAO just forget about it. Hitman 2016 and 2 made me partially forgive IOI for Absoretardation, but lack of fixes for bullshit that was plaguing new Hitmans from first's release and triumph of inner Jew within IOI regarding Epic and selling/buying make me want to just watch them burning and falling. First four games are timeless classic and you can get them for cheap on GOG. Just play them.

It's almost funny in how ballsy IOI are at their lack of integrity. LIke all this criticism and their response is to give away one of the Hitman 3 DLCs for free for a limited time. Not both of the DLCs, not permantly for everyone, one of your choice and only for early adopters. Plus it's the Hitman 3 DLC, not the Hitman 1 or 2 DLC that was actually good, they're essentially just giving away skin packs away in response to criticism. And they're still making you pay for the other! Sad thing is people here are rooting for IOI to fail, but the only place theyre gonna fail is upwards. Bond is probably gonna just validate all their shitty business practices when it comes out. Great games made by retards :(

When you have to use a flowchart to buy a game:
cfnqsnldc1d81.png

But thankfully the online drm is making sure not a single pirated copy is going to be playable.(and the legal ones too once they shut the servers down in less then 5 years)
Sigh, what is wrong with this company.

Another scummy thing IOI did that not as many people noticed.

When HITMAN 2 came out, they released a Starter Pack- at first look a demo, but really so much more. You can still download it.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/863550/HITMAN_2/

It's only the first location in the game (Hawke's Bay- a tutorial). You can play any Contracts, an Escalation and a Elusive Target on Hawke's Bay.

But wait there's more! If you own HITMAN you can carry over your arsenal and play any content (missions, escalations, ETs, contracts, holiday missions) that uses locations from 2016 through the Starter Pack.

So what's different about H3? Instead of Starter Pack that allows you to play H2016 and H2, it has a demo that doesn't have that option.

Edit: Fuck me sideways IO, H3 Starter Pack is listed on Epic and works just like H2 Starter Pack.

Playing H3 on GP reminds me of my experience I had with Desperados 3. I like the planning and the exploration, but unlike in D3, I'm forced to twiddle my thumbs until the actors get in position which is really hampering the experience. The first level didn't make a good impression, hopefully things pick up.

Yeah unironically if you don't like that about Hitman it's not going to be for you. Unless you get used to it, but there's no way to speed it up. There was going to be an unlock at one point they were testing that would speed up time but it never got out of beta

Plus I'm pretty sure the Hitman 3 starter pack doesn't have Hawke's Bay. It has the ICA facility then whatever level they make free for a week. Which is strange to gate off a small map that's more for people to play. Honestly I think that the free starter pack while it works and is great they should have a proper big level be free on that platform because I think Dubai is a better litmus test for if you like this style of game than two levels which aren't traditional Hitman party levels

Do npcs react to anything in this games? People shit so much on cyberbug but at least there npcs have some reaction to gun shots and explosions near them. Here dude is shooting thier shops and blowing up market stalls, killing people and npcs 10m away from him dont even notice and go about their buissness like nothing is happening :hahano:

LOL at 2:51 he shoots a dude walking past him by accident and npc doesent even care :|

This video was recorded in ghost mode, so the NPCs will not react to the actions of Agent 47.

The guy was cheating, in actual gameplay the AI reactions are way better than Cyberpunk. People will scream and cower or run away, some will go to the closest guards and inform them about what happened. Guards will hunt you down, if you get into major combat the building alarm will trigger causing people to evacuate and your assassination targets will get escorted to a safe area with multiple guards protecting them. Also guards aren't immediately hostile, if they catch you in a restricted area they'll escort you out instead of attacking.

The AI actually used to be even better but was dumbed down, for example Master difficulty had things like guards getting suspicious if you were in their disguise and carrying a non-standard issue weapon. For some reason IO nerfed it.

They still kind of have it for Snipers. But yeah it used to even be suspicious to carry a screwdriver or wrench when not disguised as an electrician or plumber

Some quick thoughts after finishing the campaign and dabbled a bit with Elusive Arcade:
-I had the most fun when playing a mission blind on Master difficulty. That said, I do wish there was a customizable difficulty b/c I feel like the "Professional" one is ruined by the unlimited saves. I liked the added pressure on Master and it encouraged me to squeeze as much info and intel from the maps and NPC routes as I could to carry out a plan. I think this is why I'm having a great time as well with the Escalation game mode, wherein you're tasked to take out specific NPCs with unique handicaps/conditions. There was one where all crowbars were "brittle," i.e. one time use, so I really had to carefully consider when I should use them as door breaches, vs navigate my way into/out of interiors
-the voice acting and writing is as funny as I remember, particularly 47's sardonic lines and delivery
-I love the idea of items being "consumed' via world interactions, it's a shame this is only really a feature of the "harder' Escalation variants. As it is, you're often too well equipped with all tools imaginable to try different routes.

That was standard in earlier Hitman games. No steps forward, two steps back as usual.

I've always thought the Hitman 2016 locations look much better than the rehashed versions, which should be benefitting from the updated engine in Hitman 2. I see I''m not alone.
