Played this for 1h or so. Does NOT run great on my PC (i7 4790K, 16GB ram, GTX 1070Ti - Full HD). Stuttering, not fluid, and black screen during boss fights. Debating whether I should refund and get it on PS5.

Unfortunately there are areas with stuttering :|

Anyway, I'm fucked but I cannot post the reason cause it's really a big spoiler.

Edit: after 3 hours of playing, I've solo-ed 3 bosses at lvl 1
but now I want to push str for a greatsword

Put your shader cache to infinite and your power plan to balanced. These are some tips that helped a lot of people on Reddit.

I am still naked after 4 hours.
Looks like I will be level 1 naked female for the whole game.

Game world is huge. Some really cool areas open up after the initial one. There is probably a lot of content. I'm starting to believe the reviewers who say this is 2 souls games worth of content smashed together.

If you like exploration, you gonna like this game.

Make the Codex Great Again! Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. I helped put crap in Monomyth
i7-6700k
16gb ram
rx 580 8gb

so the first time I played I loaded it up, put it on my 2nd monitor (a television) and started playing.. it defaulted to high and it was 30fps in the menus, I lowered it down to medium, turned off the automatic resolution thing, took off DoF and Motion Blur since I hate them never saw fps go up so I figured maybe it's just 30fps in the menus? started the game, was 30fps with dips in the opening area, once I hit the open world it dropped to 20 fps w/ dips and was unplayable, there was also a weird shimmering on all the trees that was very distracting and, enemies on the road leading were invisible... it was fucked.. I turned off the game and was in despair...

tried verifying the files and none needed to be redownloaded, I also turned off steam overlay. The second time everything was fine, I was getting 60fps and everything ran great for the next 1.6 hours I played. I honestly doubt that the steam overlay would have THAT big of an impact, I did try to switch monitors for a bit but when I did it seemed to bring back the invisible enemies so I played on my monitor.. not sure if it gets fucked up when on non-primary monitor or what... really odd

I have no idea what the deal is honestly because I didn't reboot my system, I had always had the newest drivers installed and didn't do ANYTHING on my end besides what I mentioned...

edit: I see people on steam forums having the same issues with a really low framerate, invisible enemies and as someone else mentioned above (didn't happen to me) weird black boxes... so yeah dunno what is happening

Menus and cutscenes are 30fps capped as per console games, open world/gameplay areas cap at 60fps. Invisible enemies, not sure where you were but some enemies have stealth... if it's all of them though, then that's a bug.

I basically run it with no issues other than the microstutter crap which is annoying and can result in dropped inputs.

Other than that, I think it's okay, it hasn't really gotten its hooks into me yet, but I wasn't super hyped before either. I may have to bounce off of it and wait until I'm in a more Soulsborne sort of mood.

Performs like absolute fucking dogshit on my machine. R7 1700 and GTX 1080 at 1440p, issues whether at Medium or Maximum. Some audio problems too. Had to stop playing after 30 minutes.

The game runs really well on my 5950x + 3090 @ 4K with AI downsampling. There are some load hiccups, but they are fairly instant and don't happen frequently enough to be a bother. The game is obviously loading in grids, I really wish they would preload grids you are closest to in the background to avoid issues.

5 hours into the game and I must say I'm extremely impressed. I fucked up at the beginning and instead of walking straight forward to face Tree Sentinel, I
went to look for what the map had and ended up in the poison area. An hour later I realized that there was a map that allowed you to fast travel (and that's explained if you go forward at the beginning)
. Even going the wrong way, I had a really fun time, because the game never told me I was in the wrong place, and the level and enemy design alone made me realize it.

My rig isn't even close to be top tier, but the stutters I'm facing are far away from taking out any amount of fun. Maybe it's because I'm a console peasant after all, and after playing Blighttown at 15 fps and Dragonslayer Armor at 10 maybe I'm just used to this.

The boss fights so far are very fun, and just like others said, I haven't leveled up so far, don't even know how to do it.

If the game keeps on this pace and throwing new things at me, it will definitely be worthy of all the hype it got.

Played about 5 hours and loving it so far. No issues on PS5 save the occasional pop in at distance. Game is very accessible compared to previous titles and the ability to ride/teleport around the map makes getting around a breeze. This is going to be a huge hit for From.

I haven't had any major performance issues so far. The only big fps drop was when the swamp dragon used its fire breath. Besides that it's a constant 60 fps @ 1440p/max settings, other than some occasional stuttering.

This seems to have helped some people who were getting bad performance:
