What a single character blobber would look like

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Since some people (most notably rusty_shackleford) have argued that genuine blobbers where you control multiple characters that move as a blob, and single-character grid-based first person dungeon crawlers play pretty much the same, wherefore "blobber" should not be used as a genre name, I decided to conceptualize a single-character blobber.

This would be a genuine blobber, even though you only play a single character.

You'd be playing as the sorceress Blobania whose body parts have their own HPs and their own skills, and they all have their own unique equipment slots. When you level up, each body part gets its own levelup screen with unique abilities to choose for each. If a body part loses all its HP it gets crippled and cannot act until it has been healed by a restoration spell.

Blobania's head is the spellcaster of the one-character-party. It gains new spells on levelup. Equipment slots are circlet and earrings. It's the only body part that can consume potions, but when a potion is consumed its buff affects all body parts.

Blobiana's torso is the one-character-party's tank. It's the sturdiest body part and has the highest HP. Equipment slots are breastplate, shirt, and belt. Skills are mostly buffs for the other body parts by performing actions such as deep breaths that increase stamina.

Blobiana's left hand and right hand are the fighters of the one-character-party. Each hand can specialize its skills around a different weapon. Blobiana is effectively dual-wielding, but each hand (which is treated as a separate entity by the mechanics) only single-wields. Curious! Equipment slots are gauntlets and rings.

Blobiana's left foot and right foot are the rangers of the party, heavily dex-based and responsible for dodging enemy attacks. They can also attack by kicking. Equipment slots are sandals/boots, toe rings, and stockings.

And bam, you got yourself a single character blobber with a "party" of six individual entities, each with their own skills, their own equipment slots, their own experience bars and levelups!

To make it more interesting, make the main character undead to give more meaning to the body parts being separate entities from the character (like the hand from the Addams Family).

You could make the magic system extra annoying by demanding you to click through both the vocalizations and the hand gestures. In correct order, of course.

Add catchy music, weeb graphics and support for dance mats and you might turn a decent profit in the far east.

Reminds me of

from Khare - Cityport of Traps (each bodypart had its own separate skill and stamina values).

Blobbers with non-configurable party miss the whole point of the genre. I want my Blobania to have 3 heads, 2 torsos, one arm and no legs.

but then most blobbers out there are already parties of 4 heads...

It's the only body part that can consume potions, but when a potion is consumed its buff affects all body parts.
Consuming a potion should be a combo two-character move involving at least one hand, unless the head wears the PotionHat that enables it to consume pre-loaded potion unassisted.

Similarly, running away should thus require that both of the feet cooperate, otherwise you can only run in circles.

Deus Ex is a gridless blobber
False, the inventory has a grid.

Blobiana's left foot and right foot are the rangers of the party, heavily dex-based and responsible for dodging enemy attacks. They can also attack by kicking.
But only one of them can kick in a given turn. If both of them kick in the same turn, the party is knocked down.

We're coming up with some really cool ideas here!!
