Phew, there you go:

I practiced the first guy several times but apparently my brain was tuned so well to him that i couldn't re-adjust to the second guy so i fumbled a bit there lmao. Got it done all the same.

Just to show you how easier certain fights get with parries:

Against the second guy I dropped the ball multiple times, but it was literally the first time I ever tried to parry him. Also keep in mind that it's a SL1 character and I'm using a semi-random weapon, damage numbers would be way higher with a Misericorde and some stat investments.

Daym brah.

Does that golden parry work the same on medium shields as it does on smaller ones? I know the regular parry is better with smaller ones but i'm not sure about that ash of war.

What's the upgrade level of your weapon?

Mine is still +15 even at SL1 you are doing a lot more damage.

I'm inclined to think it's not as OP as people say then. It's obviously a good ability, but far from game breakingly good.
With a proper setup, you can have power stanced twinblades where each of them has more than 150 bleed build up per hit. Add to this that the jumping attack from twinblades actually does two hits per L1/R1 input, a jump attack from powerstanced twinblades hits four times per input. The result? You proc bleed every single time you do a jump attack, chopping off 15% of the bosses health and staggering them out of most attacks which allows to combo into more hits thus dealing more damage for free. Late game bosses will have health in excess of 20k HP, so you're dealing more than 3000 dmg per jump attack.

I do love me my Lion's Claw too though, it's extremely powerful and easy to use.

Now this makes me want to try again with bleed. I love my magic too much to give it up, so I'll need to get the Dragon Communion Seal. I'll also need bell bearings as the ones I have only let me raise things to +12 and I've got the Godslayers' at +20. Swapping from it would be a big dip in power. Still, if I get the seal I could drop STR and FTH down to weapon/spell requirements. I have the Regalia of Eochid and Elenora's Poleblade already so I could scale both melee and casting off that stat as I'm doing with FTH, just with enough investment in FTH to be able to cast my dragon spells and curatives. The new seal would buff my dragon spells so I might actually end up more powerful. I've got like 10 larval tears left so it's worth a try.

I was using the Brass Shield, which is medium. But yes, Golden Parry works the same on both categories.

I think it was +15, +16 at best. Damage was high because I was using a fire infusion and those crucible knights are relatively weak to fire, so split-damage weapons end up being way better than regular ones. Also, my Strength score was fairly high (30), and I used the Dagger Talisman and the Ritual Sword Talisman.

Honestly I’d recommend you stick to your current build of Faith mixed with melee. You have way more variety available to you and you won’t roflstomp the rest of the game into oblivion. Bleed is seriously OP when it gets going and very much a one trick pony, good for subsequent playthroughs where you want to annihilate stuff but bad for your first one where you should experience things more organically.

Declining IQs is the reason a game which say what you want is still infinitely more complex mechanically than most of the garbage that passes as "gayming" today ended up outselling a franchise known for having zero mechanical complexity?

The lady doth protest too much, methinks. Maybe this is decline by From's standards but it's certainly incline by mainstream industry standards. I also love the saltiness of the gayming press. "A lot of people finding value in dying over and over". Imagine that, people actually enjoy a challenge and don't have to be coddled like retards all the time.

Sure, that's definitely better than the brainless CoD/FIFA/sports gamers.

But that ain't saying much LMAO. Those types of "gamers" are only one standard deviation away from communicating in grunt-grunt sounds ROFL!

Ok, so i tried a few co-op runs and i love this place. Went with the host all the way to Godfrey the ghost version whats his face. Exilarating boss. Sort of spoiled myself to get there first in co-op but whatever, i think i'll enjoy this one. Seems to be this game's version of Champion Gundyr.

  • “I want a sequel taking place in this same world.” (40s/M)
  • “It would be nice if there could be an official relationship chart for the characters or explanation of the story.” (40s/F)
  • “I like how there are optional dungeons all over, leaving it up to the player whether to clear them or not. The dungeon design was also great, with enough variety so as to not tire the player. One thing I would have liked is more types of dungeons, however.” (40s/F)
  • “There’s a huge world and freedom of how to go about. I also like how, thanks to the horse, it doesn’t feel lonely travelling around, and it doesn’t feel as dark as previous games.” (40s/M)
  • “Multiplayer connections are not stable, I hope this gets fixed soon.” (30s/M)

Dragon seal scales better with arcane though, so it should be the other way around. Most optimal i think would be 30 FTH and 55 ARC since those are the soft caps for spells. The highest dragon incantation only needs 28 FTH so.

At that point you should use an occult weapon that has native bleed on it, rather than use bleed ashes.

If you don't want to waste a larval tear just to test this you can just go offline and back up your save and check it out. There's also this thing if you want to min/max but keep in mind if you use it you are stuck with occult because the damage penalty doesn't make it worth it with other types of scaling:

https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Silver+Tear+Mask

With occult you only lose a couple of points of damage but 8 arcane if you didn't reach the cap yet is a huge buff.

yes
the Keel Smasher is also the Ruins Greatsword.

I am also curious why people complained about whirlwind attacks when minor enemies like the skeleton knights do them forever? Also how can people be shocked at fps drops when simply rolling through barrels slows the world down to a crawl? This seems like From by design. Demon's Souls is so great it makes me nauseated to think about traveling over that vast open world of The Lands Between to try to find the handful of dungeons I missed.

Scraping Spear is great. So is the Dragon Morning Star. Upgrades are so much better in this when compared to Elden Ring. I don't care if there are 100 different types of stones at least they can be differentiated between one another to where you know what they do. Elden Ring upgrades are boring as fuck by comparison to where I don't know if I can even make myself play it again.

Yeah I read the wiki page on the dragon seal, I know about the scaling. I want to keep faith high because I use other spells as well and because I want to be able to try all the incantations. The highest prereq is 50 so that's what I'm shooting for. This may be the only FTH character I do so I want to try everything I can FTH related. Sort of like the fellow who collects all the weapons, only with spells.

I can have a 50 in FTH and a 45 in ARC at level 150. All my other stats are done, so any levels I gain post 150 (at endgame or NG+) will go into ARC, eventually making it the high stat.

I'm level 131 already so not far off. My primary weapon is already scaling off arcane. It's Eleonora's Poleblade +7. My arcane is currentlly 31 (I've levelled since my last post) and I'm working it exclusively. I still pack a secondary weapon that uses FTH. Just anything light with sacred blade on it to one shot undead with. It helps out a lot. Even though my stat is low my damage output is higher on the poleblade than on my flame art warpick +12, and that's just the numbers, not taking bleed into account. This thing is going to absolutely rip once I get that arcane up.

Demon's Souls had ways of actively screwing other players in PVP. It's why griefers tended to like the scraping spear and acid breath and going in specifically just to trash someone else's gear. I think it pissed enough people off that they got rid of stuff like that. As well as a mechanic from the endgame.
