There won't be many graphically impressive games until the next gen of consoles come out. Sad, but true.

Sad, true, and bullshit - yep, that's baronjohn's post allright.

I'm looking forward to Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 and Left 4 Dead 2, though I doubt any of them will require much computer upgrading beyond what I've already got.

Apart from that, there are games that are in my wait and see pile, like Borderlands. Probably going to be shit, but I'll give it a good pirating first before writing it off completely.

I spent the last year playing mostly 2D strategy and Jagged Alliance 2 on a Core2 3GHZ, so why should I bother upgrading? The Witcher runs fine, that's about the most demanding game I play.

Mafia 2 and Arma 2 are on my list but will not require new hardware.

If you're into flight sims have a look at something like Rise of Flight.

I'm surprised a new GTA is not on the horizon?
As kinda cool the last GTA was, after GTAIV, I say fuck Rockstar, because their ports, optimization, and general bundling of the product are miserably bad.
