If you play a halfling or a dwarf in NWN2

people never make eye contact with you in dialogue.

I just don't understand how developers can overlook such things so easily. :?

It was quite deliberate. No-one really trusts dwarfs or halflings, you see.

Also: Nice choice of words in your second sentence :P

In Dragon Age (and many other games) the weapons just float behind your character.

I just don't understand how developers can overlook such things so easily.

Same way they can't make a good camera, nor fix right click mouse delay as a feature.
Do you have your account customized to e-mail you whenever a new NWN2 thread is created?

I am impressed by your ninja-like response time.

I never play dwarves or halflings in anything, so that doesn't really bother me. That does seem like a big oversight though.

I'm pretty sure such a thing is physically impossible at the ranges at which dialogue can be conducted. Given that you are so much shorter than the other human characters, the only way they could make eye contact with anything other than the top of your head would be to stand so far back that you would have to shout at each other to be heard.

At least Safiya could look downwards, instead of talking to the air.

I swear, it killed my interest in an attempted gnome bard playthrough.

Indeed. Just look how Dragon Age is close to real, mature life.

They do. I have carefully studied this phenomenon, as seen by my character's face.
