    Chernobyl because it’s a full-length 40 hour game, offers genuine scares, and is the most atmospheric of the series.

    Clear Sky & Pripyat are just expansions with 20-25 hours of gameplay

    I recommend playing Shadow of Chernobyl with the Complete mod installed because it updates the visuals to modern standards.

    Many people will tell you that Complete makes the game too easy, but this is not the case with Shadow of Chernobyl + Complete because I had to adjust the difficulty slider down a notch to Veteran (2nd hardest difficulty).

    I would skip Clear Sky altogether because it's just lame.

    Follow up Chernobyl with Pripyat if you get into it.
