Still save a lot of money even after being kidnapped and paying a ransom.

I actually live in WA. That sounds like a bit much to me. I doubt it would ever be worth crossing over the border for something as minor as price differentials on anything that is a frequent purchase (as opposed to say, big splash out medical purchases, like dental surgery). It's true in lots of places with dumb laws/restrictions that people will drive out of the city to the rural areas, though.

Gas is a lot more expensive in the city here than in the countryside, and then there's stuff that's directly more expensive not because of cost of living, but laws. Soda pop falls under that here. There's a city ordinance that is basically a 100% price increase on soda due to the tax. When it first came into effect, there was a lot of talk of people driving to the next town over to get a lot of it at Costco.

(Also holy fuck why is there such a lame character limit on profile posts.)

Is California really that fucked up?
What are some of the better states to live in and have a family and generally decent life?

avoid any heavy-blue states + cities and you're fine. helps to remember that even 80% of california is basically boomerland, all the libtards live on top of each other in cities

I heard that many californians leave the state and move to others(such as Texas) and still vote Blue.
Californication.
