GameSpy offers up an interview with Trent Oster and Darcy Pajak about the recently gold Shadows of Undrentide expansion pack for Neverwinter Nights. Here's a bit on the great story:

GameSpy: What can Neverwinter Nights fans expect from Shadows of Undrentide?

Trent Oster: Buying Shadows of Undrentide as a Neverwinter player you can expect a great story from scratch -- something we were lacking a little at the start of the original Neverwinter. Chapter one in the initial game didn't start quite as fast or get you quite as involved as we would have liked. As a result, some people never manage to go on and complete Chapter two and see some of the really great moments there or Chapter three with the time travel dungeon and the creation of the golems. So, really this time around we focused a lot more on "let's tighten up the start of the story, let's make it more engaging." We've also added in a fair amount of support to the game engine in terms of in-game cutscenes being a lot easier to do now, as well as the addition of the prestige classes, and a couple new feats, some new spells -- especially the Bigby's Hand stuff. There are some cool spells to play with. It should be a fun experience -- a little more story oriented than the previous one.

I never felt involved with the main plot anywhere in Neverwinter Nights.

Time travel dungeon you say? Maybe in the next one, they'll come up with a disco-dance dungeon or something. I think themed dungeons are a really neat idea. I like dungeons, oh yeah.

... Chapter three with the time travel dungeon and the creation of the golems.

I've mentioned this before but I finished the game, start to finish, and I don't remember, that's how involved with the stroy I was. The only quest I partly remember, other than the animal wrangling, is the quest in that castle, with the two murderers and the demon. And even that quest was combat heavy.

This part though -

gets under my skin. They're almost admitting that they've covered their arse just in the event that the game is rotten again. So I can expect the people who work hardest to justify my time and money spent with a product will see none of my money again?
