No Mutants Allowed has their second mini-interview deal with JE Sawyer of BIS about Fallout 3. Here's a comparason and contrast of what his goals are with Mr. Chris Avellone, who now needs a job(any takers? MCA really looks good in drag, so he'll be a hit at office parties!), and here's one difference:

MCA: I would prefer TB combat. And no multiplayer.

Sawyer: So would I, but I don't get to decide that, unfortunately. It will probably be TB with a RT component, and it's likely that there will be a co-op multiplayer mode.

OH BOY! It's time for a make out session with the Porcelain Princess.

Well, there's lots of stuff in there that's been beaten into MCA over the years and that Sawyer is agreeing with because he knows damned well that bad things will happen if he goes against it.

I also like what he said about weapons: there could be something that looks like an M-16, but it's not an M-16. I'd prefer original artwork rather than adaptations of real-world weapons--even if they're not meant to represent that weapon--but it's still good.

Let's hope they spend as little time as possible with that multi-player.

So far VB/FO3's development is, for me, a one step up two steps back kind of affair. Everytime JE posts something that sounds good (bulking up chatty/science skills) he posts some piece of crap (several playable races).
Actually this is exactly what the IPLY boards are like, for every Azael or Tri-Crit post there is some fucking idiot wanting the theme song to be "Bad to the Bone" or have romances. Sometimes I wonder if these people even played the FO games.
I still think Fo3 has a chance of being good, but that opinion changes back and forth almost everyday.

I have some hopes. I like J.E., but it seems like a lot of things are out of his control, not really a good thing if you're the lead designer on a project.
