Apparently, <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=217002">Bioware has confirmed</a> that Dragon Age will also be headed to consoles, albeit after it comes out for PC.
<br>
<blockquote>"Yes. Dragon Age: Origins will be coming to consoles in the near future, yes," Dan Tudge, director and executive producer for the game, told Eurogamer.
<br>
<br>
Tudge hinted that console versions of Origins will arrive in late 2009, after the PC release - which BioWare is confident will be early next year.</blockquote>
<br>
Here's to a PC to console port and not a console to PC port.

Thanks, Seance!

My bets are on a console to PC to console port, to try and retain the last segment of the PC population they have, while still creating a console game. They can hold off the xboxers with more Mass Defect ship armor or whatever the hell the DLC is.

Hardly a surprise, but it's worth noting that for a long time Bioware advertised Dragon Age as a "PC exclusive" game, so it's quite possible that this change is the direct result of EA's pressure to ship 50 games in the next 3 years.

As long as they do not alter the PC version in any way, shape or form, there's hardly a reason to worry.
Whether they decide to go down that route remains to be seen, though.

Speaking as someone who has played all of BioWares RPGs, owns a console (Xbox 360) and definitely won't be able to afford to buy a PC that can run Dragon Age, this first concrete confirmation of an up-coming console version of the exact same game is great news.

Admittedly, BioWare hasn't produced a truly great game since Throne of Bhaal, and the company's general focus on consoles has certainly corresponded with the development of less sophisticated and interesting games. That being said, Dragon Age quite clearly is the closest to a new BG that we're likely to get anytime soon.

As for any worries about "consolization", what we need to remember is that there's obviously nothing necessarily wrong with creating a game for a console and then porting it to PC (which I absolutely don't think is the case with Dragon Age) - as long, that is, as you do it properly. That distinguished developers such as BioWare and Bethesda have often failed to accomplish this in the past seems to be a question of embarrassingly poor design rather than (as is sometimes taken for granted in this discussion) something that is inherent in the choice of platform.

Well, it's usually not really a "choice of platform", but a "choice of target audience". And that does make a difference.

Hopefully DA will turn out decent regardless.

In other words, even though the consolization of Bioware brought us nothing but progressively worse games and the last Bio games you enjoyed with a PC only game, Dragon Age going consoles is great news!

Makes sense.

Even though each consolized game is a pale and limited version (retarded cousin?) of what the game could have been had it been designed for mouse & keyboard, monitor, and taken advantage of PC power.

That distinguished developers such as BioWare and Bethesda have often failed ...
Clever trolling or genuine inability to grasp the obvious?

Oh yeah.. it's of course because EA is a pressure monster - and not because biowhore is composed of utterly greedy shitheads who've been selling their mothers' asses long before EA became what it is now (a large publisher).

Vaginal Disease, get a job.

I said "quite possible", not "there could be no doubt", but something tells me that reading comprehension isn't one of your assets.

You're talking about your mother? No, she tells you to get a job.
So go now and stop repeating the same things. Don't be origins like Dragon Age: Origins - be origins for real. :lol:

To the trio above: fuck off with the buzzz.

Why is Warden so butthurt about Bioware? Is he an ex-employee that got fired or something?

That's kinda like saying "as long it does not lead to widespread misery, suffering, and oppression, living under Marxism is just fine".

Is it a failure on my part that I have no idea what the fuck you're trying to say?
