As many of you know, <a href=http://www.nma-fallout.com>NMA</a> had a thingy called <a href=http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=69429#69429>Ask Metalheart Dev Something</a>. Well, the questions have been finally <a href=http://www.nma-fallout.com/article.php?id=4895>answered</a>
<br>
<br>
<blockquote> Q: About character development, will you have specialized main characters at the end of the game as they were in arcanum or they will look more like mwd's jack-of-all-trades demigods?
<br>
A: The standard character development system allows the increasing of all abilities. The unique abilities become available only by inserting special implants or using special gadgets.
<br>
<br>
Q: Is there a space to explore and wonder or it will be just another Earth with textures of cyborgs and nomads on common people.
<br>
A: Plenty of location to explore. And it is a different planet, not another Earth.

I guess he didn't have a special implant "Understanding questions before answering them".

I hope it's different to this planet to, those fucking texture cyborgs piss me off.

The answers seem a little funny, like
Q: Joinable npcs. will they have some nice background. even minimum. in other words - fallout or diablo2?
A: That would be nice, we are still working on this part.

Q: How is the invetory system handled? can each character carry a unlimited amount of items, or is it limited by weight.
A: The size of the inventory is limited to character’s strength. Every item needs exactly one slot, so it’s up to you to carry 10 weapons or 10 cans of beer with you.

What the heck does that second question really mean... ?! I have problems understanding it myself... heh.
Well, it's not really a rocket science, the guy asks if there any space exploration involved or it will be just an Earth looking planet where instead of humans we'd have nomads and cyborgs and shit.

They figured it was overrated and went with the key-word model instead.

I'm still not too thrilled with the character system of Metalheart. All skills and attributes are in one category and you can raise them all through the course of the game with skill points. I much prefer games where attributes might raise a BIT over the course of it, and skills are raised more frequently.

Yeah, ever since Arcanum I've been forced to see the reason of this argument, plus I've never been able to come up with a reasonable reason for the spontaneous raising of attributes.

A lot of people may dislike Arcanum, as do I, for its character system. But one thing I believe it did right was the forced training of skills. It really added a lot to the atmosphere. Even Saint dislikes that, but I happen to like that one part about the game. I can't really fathom the instant use of a new powerful ability without the help of a trainer.

No, I disliked the trainers in Arcanum. I didn't mind them in Avernum. The thing I didn't like about the trainers in Arcanum is that they were unique and often times you had to make annoying choices with them in order to get that really good training. For example, the choice between getting the best throwing weapon in the game or getting that extra level of training.. Meh.

Then again, it's often silly to me that you're basically the only one saving the world and stuff, but you can't figure out how to better yourself without a teacher. If the trainers are so good at what they do, why aren't they the ones saving the world?
