After NAMCO Bandai (who will distribute The Witcher 2 in some regions) said that they were planning to use the Ubisoft DRM sytem for the Witcher 2, a CD Projekt guy now decided to comment on that.

“Our distributors commented [on] the Ubisoft-like DRM securilty solutions, and we’re receiving a massive feedback about applying such in The Witcher 2,” read the post. “There’s nothing to worry about, as nothing is decided yet.

“And still, it’s a private opinion. You know Cd Projekt RED’s opinion about DRM, right?”

CD Projekt’s known for its opposition to harsh DRM policies, and its Good Old Games website offers digital distribution-free games for purchase.

Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Codex+ Now Streaming! Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I hope they wont include DRM. I will buy their game but if they will include online limited activation then fuck them, i'd rather pirate or not play it.

The Witcher 2 will have Ubisoft-esque DRM for a year after release. Then CDPR will remove it with a scene crack.

It's not pirated, it's digital distribution-freed!

Anyway, ubisoft's drm lasted a month for assassin's creed 2 which would have been excellent for them if it there hadn't been any dos attacks.

But what about splinter cell, didn't it come out after AC2, use the same drm and get cracked in just a couple of days?

No, other way around, you couldn't even finish the tutorial with the original skidrow crack.

Yeah it took 2 weeks for AC2 to get cracked and a month for a scene crack(original required server emulation, scene required nothing). Conviction was cracked instantly. That's the way DRM goes, once its been cracked once its going to get cracked really quickly for all subsequent games.
