The final(?) Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines box art has appeared on several retail sites recently, but this is the first decent sized image to surface. When checking with Shane Defreest, Activision's online Community Manager for Bloodlines, he acknowleged this is in fact the real deal.

Personally I feel like Jeanette takes too much room and strikes me as something of an missplaced afterthought to an otherwise pretty cool package. What do you think? Discuss!

Reminds me of Homeworld2's box art in the fact that, for no real reason, they stuck a woman's head on the front (Karen Sjet). I mean, you don't play Karen, she has a very minor role in the story for the most part and, besides, she shouldn't look like that after spending 50 or so years in a jar.

Its like this package; just what is the point? I mean, sure, there's tits and ass there but, really, the only person who'd find that attractive works in a morgue and does unpleasant things to the occupants.

In part, they're marketing to the Vampire community using the artist Tim Bradstreet, whom I believe is/was the most popular WoD artist, who's doing a lot of PR for game - using Jeanette in posters and stuff. As from what part she plays in the game, apart from the short clips in the gameplay movies - who knows?

First thought: Redneck Rampage. The image is *freaking awesome* without Dolly-Anne on the box.

Well, far be it for Activision to turn down a prolific/famous artist that might just result in added sales from fans of his work.

I was going to say something... uh... er... yeah, JiggleTech rulez!

Seriously, if you remove Jeanette from there, it's a pretty moody box art. Alternatively, they could line up several of the main characters. Or just leave it as it is, but put Jeanette in the back of the box.

Bah, a still image can't communicate the bouncy glory of Troika's jiggletech!

Speaking of Troika, anyone notice how the box does feature ample T&A but not the Troika logo? Bizarro, eh?

Activision wants to sell the product; not shame it.

Dude, I'm 99.9999% positive the woman isn't by Bradstreet. He photorefs his ASS off and that image smacks of a cg render. (1st hint, people aren't shaped like that in real life). Bradstreet's whole deal is posing doods, taking photos and going to town. (2nd hint, Bradstreet does good compositions, this is monkey poo) Man, they are selling bloodlines shoooooort with this cover. And every once in a while a box can make the difference to the consumer. I remember running up to bestbuy the night Planescape came out. And I remember thinking "dammit! I'm late, they'll be sold out!". But when I got there, all the planescapes were in a perfect, untouched pyramid display. That blue dreadlocked madness scared away the average buyer. I'm afraid people (read: civilians) will see this cover and think "cyberpunk rednecks?".

Geez Volo, now you're a Prophet as well? I though Cipher described you pretty well.

And well, why wouldn't this be news? If people are interested, it it's postworthy, and apparently people are as they're posting. I wouldn't call it particularly important news on the other hand... ;)

Eh? What ya mean?

Well.. To be honest, I could start a thread about shitting on my toilet and get people interetsed and posting but would you actually put that up as a news article? I surely hope not amusing as it would be. Now, before someone goes bonkers the boxsart is a lot closer to news than what I do on the toilet; but still Whip's defintion asked for a smart ass comment.

"That blue dreadlocked madness scared away the average buyer."

Yeah, because someone who would be interested in a agme about VAMPIRES would run away screaming at the sight of the colour blue. HAHAHA!

Volourpoops.cx? Chances are the domain is available. Have fun and considering it's the internet you'll probably be filthy rich on people's weird sexual desires. Har har.

I'll have to agree that Planescape's box art and the screenshots I saw initially had me thinking it was pure and utter weirdness crap. Luckily I came to my senses.

Oh, and yeah. You're probably right about it not being Bradstreet. My remberance of his artwork is before he started working with pictures and stuff and did conventional artwork featured in my Jyhad deck.

Well. I said "final(?)" box art and I don't believe you should reading anything into that Troika's logo's missing from the box. I think we can expect Valve's there too when we see the game on retailer's shelves - at least I believe it's probable, considering it's THEIR engine.

I have *never* bought or not bought a game based on boxart even before I got on the net despite what i said above. PST's box art is completel;y different than this one though. this is a HOT chick; the PST art was an ugly ASS man.

"I dunno, chief. This box looks kinda gloomy."
"It is a vampire game. You want kittens and bunnies?"
"I have an idea."
"Do tell"
"Ass"
"What?"
"Ass, man! Ass! It'll sell."

Its too late at night for this shit.

Behind you.
I really don't think that box art is exactly a "sex sells" box art thing. Hell, she looks like Darla from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, only more.. pasty and unkempt. The pose isn't even sexy.

Have to agree with you there Saint, but the major reaction to it - in several places (bloodlines.dilapidation.com for instance) is that of a somewhat sexual nature. Guess it's only those "angstyfiles" (and Volourn) that gets those vibes... har har.

Come on guys it could be much worse. It's not like she's in some tight leather outfit with a whip in her hand, blood drooling from her lips.

She has all clothes on. And you can barely see her ass, since there reads Activision.
Personally I was expecting a lot more jiggletech.
Not sure is this positive outcome or not. :?

I suppose you could put a hot water bottle down there to heat her up a bit and get busy with the KY jelly. It could work. The whole "drinking all your blood" could be a problem for a long term relationship. That and the fact she is dead....and not real. Ahem.
